If you are looking to make your own punching bag, there are several options for choosing a punching bag.First, decide how much pear weight you need and how much time you are willing to spend harvesting after completing this process, and choose one of the methods below.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Filling folded clothes

  1. 1 Cut off all locks and buttons. Do not leave any parts on your clothes that could damage the inside of the punching bag.
  2. 2 Fold the clothes neatly and place them in the bottom of the pear bag.
  3. 3 As you fill the bag, check that there are no voids left in the bag.
  4. 4 Press down on any protrusions with the edge of your hand.

Method 2 of 3: Sand filling

  1. 1 If you need a heavier pear, add sand to it. Sometimes sand is added to punching bags for weight. Sand should not be poured to the bottom, as it can clog and injure the boxer. In addition, sand should not be poured directly into the punching bag.
  2. 2 Fill the bag halfway with old clothes. It will prevent the sand from falling to the bottom and caking.
  3. 3 Take two plastic bags and place one inside the other for extra density. Gently pour or scoop the fine sand into the bag using a spatula, to a volume of about 1 kg of sugar. After that, tie the bag and wrap the loose ends around. Secure them with tape.
  4. 4 Fill the pear with sand. Once you've prepared a few sandbags, fold them neatly into the pear bag, making sure there is at least 10 cm of thick rags or old clothing between the side of the bag and the sandbags. The fabric will prevent sandbags from tearing from impacts.
  5. 5 Adjust the weight of the bag as needed. If the pear is too heavy, or if you need to make it lighter in the future, simply unzip the top and remove as many sandbags as needed to achieve your desired weight.

Method 3 of 3: Filling with sawdust

  1. 1 Stuff the bottom third of the pear bag tightly with clothes or rags.
  2. 2 Place a polypropylene trash bag inside the pear bag.
  3. 3 Fill the trash bag with sawdust so that the edges touch the edges of the boxer bag.
  4. 4 Tie the edge of the bag and secure with tape. Add more bags of sawdust if necessary. Do not put or pour sawdust directly into the punching bag.
