Learn how to rent, buy, and find free full-length movies on YouTube in this article. The purchase and rental of films is carried out only through the YouTube website, but the search for free full-length films is available in both the mobile and stationary versions of YouTube.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Renting or buying movies

1. 1 Open the YouTube website. Open the page: https://www.youtube.com/ in a computer browser. If you are already signed in, you will be taken to the YouTube home page.
   • If you are not already signed in, click Sign In in the upper right corner of the page and enter your email address and password.
2. 2 Click on the search bar at the top of the YouTube start page.
3. 3 Enter filmsand then press ↵ Enter. This will find the Movies channel, where YouTube hosts movies available for rent or purchase.
4. 4 Press Films at the top of the search results list to open the Movies channel. The channel icon looks like a white film strip on a red background.
5. 5 Select a movie to rent or buy. Click on a movie on the main channel tab to open the preview window.
   • Scroll down to see more movies.
6. 6 Click on the button with the price tag. It's a blue button with the text FROM [Price] in the lower right corner of the movie preview window. A pop-up window will appear.
   • If the movie is not available for rent, this button will only show the price.
7. 7 Choose quality. Click on the SD or HD tab at the top of the pop-up window to select standard or high quality video, respectively.
   • Renting or buying a movie in standard quality usually costs a little less.
   • Some films do not have this option.
8. 8 Press To rent or Buy at the bottom of the popup.
   • If the movie is only available for purchase, there will be no “Rent” option.
9. 9 Enter your card billing information. You need to enter your credit or debit card number, expiration date, and the name of the cardholder.
   • If your browser (or Google Account) contains your card details, just enter your three-digit security code.
10. 10 Click on the blue button Pay at the bottom of the pop-up window to confirm your choice and rent or buy the selected movie. You can watch the movie right here or open it in another window by following the link: https://www.youtube.com/purchases/.
    • To watch a movie on mobile devices, sign in to the YouTube app with the same account, open the Library tab, click Purchase, and select your movie.
    • The button will say "Pay" even if you are renting a movie.

Method 2 of 2: Finding Free Movies

1. 1 Open YouTube. Click on the YouTube app icon that looks like a white triangle on a red background (mobile device) or open the page: https://www.youtube.com/ in your browser (computer). If you are already signed in, you will be taken to the YouTube home page.
   • If you are not logged in yet, select "Login" and then enter your email address and password.
2. 2 Tap the search bar. Tap the magnifying glass icon (mobile) or click the search bar at the top of the page (desktop).
3. 3 Enter the title of the movie. Enter the title of the movie and its release year, then click Search or ↵ Enterto find the movie on YouTube.
   • For example, to search for Alien: Covenant on YouTube, enter alien covenant 2017.
   • Note that it is much easier to find full versions of older and less popular films on YouTube than new releases.
4. 4 Review the search results. Scroll through the search results, hoping to find the full version of the movie you're looking for.
5. 5 Select a movie. Click on the video with the timing of the desired movie. The movie will not start playing without an uninterrupted internet connection or data transfer.
   • You can download a full-length movie from YouTube for free only in very rare cases.

Tips

• You will have 30 days to start watching the rented movie. After starting a movie, you have 48 hours to finish watching it before it disappears from your library.

Warnings

• Refrain from downloading free movies to YouTube, as this may violate piracy laws in your country.
