It's no secret that it is notoriously difficult for men to buy gifts. Choosing the right gift for your boyfriend can often be a difficult task, but finding a gift will definitely make a special occasion or milestone more memorable. 1 Ask him. It's easy and obvious! Perhaps he will say that he does not want anything, but ask anyway if you can’t think of anything.

3 Think about his hobby. Obviously!

5 Pay attention to his friends. Friends can give a great hint about what someone likes. If all of his friends dress like high-end private school graduates, go to American Eagle or Hollister on your quest. If all his friends are computer geeks, head to an electronics store like Best Buy. Friends often like the same thing! 
6 Brands always work. Most guys have favorite brands. It's Ford or Chevy, John Deere or Carhartt, Home Depot or Lowes, Pepsi or Coke, one team or the other. If you know he likes Chevy more than Ford, look for things with the Chevy logo. Logos grab people's attention! How many times have you stopped and looked at something simply because it was Cinderella, or Snow White instead? Brands won't lead you in the wrong direction, but make sure it's the one he likes! 
7 Even if it seems like an easy route, guys love food! And you can never go wrong with gift cards. They may seem impersonal, but everyone loves them. And if he drives, gift cards to fast food places and gas stations, or just car accessories in general will always be good! 
8 Instead of buying them a bar of chocolate, make toffee or cookies. Home gifts are the best and show how much you care for someone. 
9 Most guys think that if you gave something, they should return it too. This is not bad, but it will need some help, so try to leave some hints, it works! 
10 In relationships, personalized gifts are always a favorite. Store your photos in shiny items like collages, photo cards, photo books.
Tips
- If you're going to ask someone to help you choose a gift, ask their father, brother, or close friend.
- Your gift doesn't have to be expensive or cheap. It may be a small and perfect gift, but it doesn't mean a lot if it's just big. You are just friends, so don't waste too much! It's about quality, not quantity!
- Find out what he likes. For example, if he has a favorite sweatshirt that he wears all the time, buy him another with a similar style. If he has a favorite band, do not buy music (most likely, he has all of it anyway), but buy posters or even better, concert tickets.
