This article will teach you how to add a job on Facebook. You can do this on both the desktop version of Facebook and the mobile app.

Method 1 of 2: On a desktop

1. Open Facebook. Go to https://www.facebook.com/ in your browser. If you are logged into your Facebook account, this will open your Facebook News Feed.
   • If you are not logged in, enter your email address (or phone number) and password at the top right of the page to log in.
2. Click on the tab with your name. This is the tab with your name and profile picture at the top right of the page. This will take you to your profile page.
3. click on Edit profile. This button is to the right of your name and profile picture, so at the top of the page.
4. Scroll down and click ＋ Edit Information About Yourself. This is at the bottom of the page.
5. click on Work and Training. This tab is on the left side of the page.
6. click on Add a job. This is a link under the "WORK" heading at the top of the page.
7. Enter details about your work. Complete the following fields:
   • "Company" - Type the name of the company where you work, then click a corresponding company in the drop-down menu. If you want to add your own company, click on "Create [company]" at the bottom of the drop-down menu.
   • "Job Title" - Enter the name of your job title.
   • "City / Village" - Enter the city or town where you work.
   • "Description" - Optionally, you can add a short description of your job here.
   • "Period" - Select a start date. You can also check the box "I am currently working here" to add a date that you quit that job.
8. click on Saving Changes. This is a dark blue button at the bottom of the page. This saves the details of your job and adds the job to your profile.

Method 2 of 2: On mobile

1. Open Facebook. Tap the Facebook app icon. It resembles a white "f" on a blue background. This will open Facebook. If you are logged in to your Facebook profile, the page with your News Feed will open.
   • If you are not logged in, enter your email address (or phone number) and password at the top right of the page to log in.
2. Press ☰. This is either at the bottom right corner of the screen (iPhone) or at the top of the screen (Android). A menu will appear.
3. Tap your name at the top of the screen. This will open your profile page.
4. Press Edit profile. This is almost at the top of the page, just below your name and profile picture.
5. Scroll down and press Edit details. This option is almost at the bottom of the page.
6. Press ＋ Add job at the bottom of the "WORK" section. Depending on how many jobs are listed here, you may have to scroll down to find this option.
7. Enter details about your job. Complete the following fields:
   • "Where have you worked?" - Enter the name of the company. If you want to enter an existing company, type the name of the company and tap the company's page in the drop-down menu that appears.
   • "Job Title" - Enter the name of your job title (eg, "Director").
   • "City / Village" - Enter the city or town of the company. This step is necessary unless you check the following option.
   • "It is not a physical place" - Check this box if your work does not depend on a location.
   • "Description" - Optionally, you can add a short description of your job here.
   • "Since" - Add the date when you started working here.
   • "Until" - Enter the date you left that position.
   • "I am currently working here" - Check this box if you are currently working in the company you are adding; tick the box if you used to work here.
8. Press Save at the bottom of the page. This saves the details about your job.
9. Press SAVE. This option is at the bottom of the "Edit Profile" page. This will add the job to your profile.

Tips

• Setting up a job on Facebook can help Facebook suggest friends who work in the same company.
• If you cannot update your job information, try making changes in another browser or on a mobile device. You may also need to temporarily disable third party extensions that are active in your browser.

Warnings

• By default, your job is displayed publicly.
