Today's wikiHow teaches you how to view Snapchat Stories, which are snapshots friends post on their profile pages (including your own). Snapchat Stories will be visible for 24 hours after being posted. If you want to see what Snapchat users and sponsors randomly post on their Stories, you can take a look at the public news.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Watch other people's news

1. 

   Snapchat. Tap the Snapchat app with the white ghost icon on a yellow background. The Snapchat camera will open if you're signed into Snapchat.
   • If you're not signed into Snapchat, you'll need to first tap LOG IN, enter your email address and password to continue.

   Click the "Discover" tab with the white two-frame icon in the lower right corner of the screen. The Discover page will appear where you can view Snapchat news from celebrities, store news, and time-related events (such as rallies or festivals, etc.).
   • You might even see a few Stories from your friends list.

   Browse public news. Scroll down the list of public Stories until you find something to watch.

   Select Story. Click on the Story you want to view to open it. News will start playing immediately.

   Navigate throughout the Story. Click on the left side of the screen to go back to the previous Story segment, while clicking on the right side of the screen will skip to the next Story segment.
   • When you finish viewing the current Story, you will automatically be redirected to the next available story.
   • Occasionally ads will appear in-between stories, or in the middle if you're watching a news segment. You can skip by pressing the right side of the screen.

Advice

• When viewing a user's message, you can click Chat at the bottom of the screen to send the text snap to that Story.

Warning

• User stories will disappear 24 hours after being posted.
