If you want to hide your recent activities and delete your browsing history in Mozilla Firefox, then this article is for you.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Firefox 2.6

1. 

   Click on Firefox. When the program opens, click on the orange Firefox button in the top left corner.

   Hover your mouse over History. A menu will appear when you click on Firefox. Hover up from History on the right side of the menu.

   Click on "Clear Recent History". It will bring up delete options.

   Select a time range. Select a retrograde time period for which you want to delete history.

   Select the item to delete. There are a number of different categories that you can delete. If you just don't want someone to accidentally know what you are doing, delete 4 items (browsing history, forms, cookies, and cache).

Method 2 of 3: Firefox 4

1. 

   Click on 'Tools' in the Firefox menu.

2. 

   Click on 'Clear Recent History'.

3. 

   Check the boxes you want to delete.

Method 3 of 3: Firefox 3.6 and Older Versions

1. 

   Open Mozilla Firefox.

2. 

   Open Firefox Options (Tools> Options).

3. 

   Click the Privacy tab.

4. 

   Press clear your recent history (delete your recent history).

5. 

   Select the time range you want to delete. If you want to delete all of your history, select Everything (Everything).
   • If you choose Everything, then check all the options.

6. 

   Press Clear Now (Erase Now).

7. 

   Click Ok.

8.

Advice

• If you are on a shared computer, clear your recent history each time the session ends.

Warning

• Once deleted, History cannot be restored unless the system is restored.
