This wikiHow teaches you how to uninstall Razer Synapse on a Windows or Mac computer. Razer Synapse is cloud-based configuration software for Razer accessories so you can instantly load your mouse and keyboard presets onto any computer. The software has been criticized for being difficult to remove which can damage the client computer and sometimes leave extra files on your computer after a normal uninstall.

Method 1 of 2: In Windows

1. Close Razer Synapse. It's a green icon in the lower right corner of the system tray and looks like a cloud.
   • Right click on the Razer Synapse icon (click first ∧ if it is not visible).
   • click on Exit Razer Synapse.
2. Remove Razer Synapse. You can remove Razer Synapse using the "Uninstall" file in the Razer Synapse folder, or by following the steps below.
   • Open StartRestart your computer. If Razer Synapse is no longer on your computer, you can quit now. If it continues to be a problem, there may be some files left in your registry. Back up your files and proceed with the next steps. Take the following steps to restart your computer.
     • click on StartStart the registry editor. It is the app with an icon of blue cubes. Take the following steps to start the registry editor.
       • click on Startclick on Computer. It's at the top of the registry editor's left sidebar.
       • click on edit. It's the second option in the menu bar at the top.
       • click on Search. It's in the "Edit" menu. A search bar will now open.
       • Type Razer in the search bar and press ↵ Enter. It will now search for Razer entries in the registry.
       • Right-click on an item from Razer. There will then be "Razer inc" in the data column.
       • click on remove. The entry in the registry will be deleted.
         • Warning: Be careful what you delete from the registry. Removing the wrong items can cause your system to malfunction.
       • click on click on This PC. This will open your main menu on your computer.
       • Type Razer in the search bar and press ↵ Enter. The search bar is in the top right corner of File Explorer. This will allow you to search for the remaining Razer items on your computer. The search may take a few minutes.
       • Select all the items you want to delete. Keep ⇧ Shift and click to select more than one item.
       • Drag the items to the trash. The trash can is usually located in the top left corner of your desktop. This will delete any remaining Razer entries.

Method 2 of 2: On a Mac

1. Open Finder click on Go. It's in the menu bar at the top of the screen. This will open a drop-down menu.
2. click on Utilities. Utilities opens.
3. Double click on Terminal Type a number of different commands to delete Razer files and directories. Enter each command in the terminal and press ⏎ Return after each line. You may be asked to enter your administrator password to continue.
   • launchctl remove com.razer.rzupdater
   • launchctl remove com.razerzone.rzdeviceengine
   • sudo rm /Library/LaunchAgents/com.razer.rzupdater.plist
   • sudo rm /Library/LaunchAgents/com.razerzone.rzdeviceengine.plist
4. Open Finder click on Programs. You can click Programs in the left sidebar or in the "Go" menu.
5. Drag Razer Synapse to the trash. This will remove Razer Synapse.
6. Return to your terminal window. The terminal window should still be open, but if not, you can reopen it just like before.
7. Type the following lines of code into the terminal. This will delete Razer Synapse's "Support" folders.
   • sudo rm -rf / Library / Application Support / Razer /
   • rm -rf ~ / Library / Application Support / Razer /
