WhatsApp allows you to write strikethrough in messages. This is a great way to give emphasis when changing or editing someone's messages. Simply add a ~ to dashes.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: iOS

1. 

   Open WhatsApp.

2. 

   
   
   Press CHATS (Conversation). This item is horizontal at the bottom of the screen.

3. 

   Tap the conversation for which you want to dash.

   Click on the text field. This item is at the bottom of the screen. When you tap this item, the keyboard is displayed.

   Enter the message to the passage where you want to start writing dash.

   Add a tilde ~. This is the first step of the dash card.
   • On iOS devices, the ~ sign is found by pressing the 123 button or the.? 123 button, then pressing #+=. Click ~. This is the fourth node from the left on the second row of nodes.

7. 

   Enter the text of the message you want to dash. Do not enter a space between the ~ sign and the first letter of the message you want to dash.

8. 

   Add a ~ at the end of the message you want to dash. This step ends the dash card.
   • Do not enter a space between the end of the dash message and the ~ sign. Now the message line between the ~ sign appears a line through the text in the text box.

9. 

   Continue to enter the rest of the message.

10. 

    Click the submit arrow. Messages will appear in the chat history. The message will appear with a line through the text without a ~ at the end of the sentence. advertisement

Method 2 of 2: Android

1. 

   Open WhatsApp.

2. 

   Press CHATS (Conversation). This item is horizontal at the top of the screen.

   Tap the conversation for which you want to dash.

   Click on the text field. This item is at the bottom of the screen. When you tap this item, the keyboard is displayed.

   Enter the message to the passage where you want to start writing dash.

   • On Android devices, the ~ sign is found by pressing Sym in the lower left of the screen, then selecting 1/2. Click ~. This is the second node from the left on the second row of nodes.

   Enter the text of the message you want to dash. Do not enter a space between the ~ sign and the first letter of the message you want to dash.

8. 

   Add a ~ at the end of the message you want to dash. This step ends the dash card.
   • Do not enter a space between the end of the dash message and the ~ sign. Now the message line between the ~ sign appears a line through the text in the text box.

9. 

   Continue to enter the rest of the message.

10.
