Regular cleaning of the computer screen will help you see the screen better. Although there are many detergents on the market, you can also make your own cleaning solution at home. In order to properly clean the computer screen, please follow the instructions below.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Clean the screen

1. 

   Turn off the screen. This not only reduces the risk of electrical accidents, but also makes it easy to detect dirt on the screen.

   Wipe off dust with a dry cloth. Wipe slowly in a circular motion and do not put pressure on the screen. Make sure that the towel you are wiping has a smooth surface and leaves no lint behind. A large towel will be more advantageous because it can limit the marks caused by your fingers on the screen.
   • Some fabrics have smooth surfaces such as:
     • Microfiber
     • Cotton T-shirt
     • Cotton handkerchiefs
     • Cotton warm cup towel
   • Avoid using the following towels because they are quite rough:
     • Tissue
     • Dish towels
     • Facial tissue

   Add the cleaning solution to the towel. Do not spray detergent directly on the monitor. Instead, spray the cleaning solution on the rag. You only need to absorb a little solution at a time, as too much moisture can damage your screen in the long run.

   Wipe off dirt with a towel. Wipe gently in a circular motion and avoid direct pressure on the screen. Don't scrape the stains, let the detergent break them down.
   • You may need to absorb more solution and rinse off a few times with stubborn stains.
   • Wipe off any remaining moisture after cleaning the screen.

   Let the screen dry. The screen must be completely dry before being turned on again. This is to minimize the risk of moisture damaging the internal components.
   • Do not use a dryer or any other heat generating device to blow to speed up the process. Let the monitor air dry.

Method 2 of 3: Make your own cleaning solution

1. 

   Use suitable water. You should not use tap water to make cleaning solutions, as tap water contains minerals that can damage the screen. You can make your own distilled water, or buy it from the grocery store.

2. 

   Add detergent. The two most commonly used home cleaning agents are isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) and white vinegar. Both are specialized in treating stubborn stains, so depending on your preference, you can choose any type. However, don't mix the two together, you should only choose one of them.
   • Do not use detergent that contains ammonia, such as glass cleaner, as it may discolor the screen.
   • When choosing rubbing alcohol, do not mix with distilled water in the ratio more than 50/50. If you are using vinegar, start with a 50/50 ratio and add vinegar if the solution isn't strong enough.
   • Vodka can be used instead of rubbing alcohol.

Method 3 of 3: Buy cleaning solution

1. 

   Read reviews. Most proprietary detergent manufacturers claim that their products are the most effective. Take a look at what users have to say about the product before making a purchase.
   • Some solutions are more about polishing than cleaning, so you need to read the product description carefully.

2. 

   Buy a complete cleaning kit. If you do not have a rag, purchase a cleaning kit. These products usually come with a suitable microfiber towel for cleaning the LCD screen.

3. 

   Consider buying a cleaning cloth. If you don't want to wash the rags, you can purchase disposable wipes designed specifically for the LCD monitor. advertisement

• Make sure that the monitor is turned off and unplug during cleaning. Do not plug the power back in until the screen is completely dry. Do not allow solution to flow into the monitor or contact other parts of the computer.
