The price of fake eyelashes can sometimes be quite expensive, so you may want to use them over and over again. If you want to reuse fake eyelashes, there are many options you can consider. You can clean false lashes with a cotton swab. You can also use tweezers and a plastic bowl of makeup remover to slowly clean your lashes. When you're done, store your false lashes in a cool and dry place.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Clean with a cotton swab

1. 

   Preparing instruments. Before cleaning your false lashes, you need to have the necessary tools ready. To use this method, you need to prepare:
   • Makeup remover, eye-specific
   • Rubbing alcohol
   • Cotton
   • Cotton swab
   • Tweezers

   Wash your hands. To start, wash your hands with clean tap water and antibacterial soap. You should not clean false lashes with dirty hands, as this can cause eye infections.
   • Wet your hands with clean running water. Apply antibacterial soap to your hands for about 20 seconds. Scrub between your fingers, the backs of your hands, and underneath your fingernails.
   • Rinse hands with water and then dry with a clean cloth.

   Remove false eyelashes. Before cleaning, carefully remove false eyelashes. Use your fingertips instead of a fingernail or a tool like tweezers as this can damage your false lashes.
   • Hold the lashes tightly with your thumb and index finger.
   • Slowly pull out the lash strip. False eyelashes will come off easily.

   Wet a cotton ball with makeup remover and wipe over the lashes. Take a cotton ball. Fill the cotton ball with makeup remover. Use a cotton ball to wipe along the lashes with gentle motion. Wipe the cotton ball from the top to the ends of the lashes to remove the glue. Do this until all cosmetic layers have been wiped off.

   Repeat the steps on the other side of the eyelash. Flip false lashes. Get a new cotton ball and wet it with makeup remover. Then repeat the process of wiping the cotton ball along the other side of the lashes. As above, wipe from top to bottom of false lashes. Wipe along the adhesive part. Completely clean the cosmetic layer.

   Use tweezers to remove the glue. Normally, the glue will remain on the lash strip. You can use tweezers to remove any remaining glue.
   • Check to see if the glue is still on the fake eyelashes. If so, take a tweezers. Use the tweezers in one hand to pull out the glue. The other hand holds the false lashes with the tip of the finger.
   • You should only pull out the glue with the tweezers. If you pull on the eyelashes, it will damage the fake lashes.

   Dip a fresh cotton ball in rubbing alcohol and wipe the lash strip. You need to wipe off any remaining glue or cosmetics from the lash strip. Dip a fresh cotton ball in rubbing alcohol and wipe along the lash strip. Method 2 of 3: Use a plastic bowl

1. 

   Preparing instruments. Before you start this method, you need to have your tools ready. You will need the following:
   • Plastic bowls, such as small Tupperware bowls
   • Eye makeup remover
   • Tweezers
   • Tissue
   • Eyelash brush comb

2. 

   Wash your hands. As always, wash your hands before you start so your fake lashes won't become contaminated. Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with clean water and antibacterial soap. Clean under fingernails, between fingers and the backs of hands. When finished, rinse and dry with a towel.

   Remove false eyelashes. Remove false eyelashes after washing your hands. You should remove the false eyelashes with your fingertips instead of your fingernails or tweezers. Use your thumb and index finger to hold the false lashes and pull out the inner lash. The eyelashes will come off easily.

   Put your fake lashes in a bowl. Just put fake eyelashes in the bowl. Lay down false lashes.

   Fill the bowl with makeup remover. Add one tablespoon of makeup remover to the bowl. If the bowl is large, you will need to add makeup remover. Fill the bowl with just enough solution to cover the lashes.

   Set the bowl aside for 5 minutes. Place in a safe place out of reach of children or pets. Do not leave the bowl out for more than 5 minutes. If left on for a long time, it will damage fake eyelashes.

   Use tweezers to remove false eyelashes. After 5 minutes, gently remove lashes from the bowl. Place your lashes on a clean paper towel. Spread the paper towel on a clean, flat surface.

   Use tweezers to remove the glue from the eyelashes. Hold your lashes with your index finger and thumb. Use the tweezers to remove any remaining glue on the lash strip. Be sure to use tweezers only to pull and not to pull the fake eyelashes. Pulling on the whole lashes will cut off the false lashes.

   Clean the bowl and add makeup remover. Rinse the bowl thoroughly and add makeup remover. Do not pour as much as at first. Add just the right amount to make a thin layer of makeup remover at the bottom of the bowl.

    Rinse the false lashes in the makeup remover with tweezers. Take tweezers. Use tweezers to shake the false lashes back and forth inside the bowl. Scatter the false lashes from the left side to the right side of the bowl. Then flip the fake lashes and repeat the steps with the other side.

    Repeat until the eyelashes are cleaned. Continue to pour dirty water out of the bowl, add a new makeup remover, and rinse your lashes back and forth first with tweezers. Continue until the makeup remover dries out while you rinse your lashes repeatedly. This is a sign that the eyelashes are completely clean.

    Place the lashes on a clean paper towel and allow to dry. After the eyelash is cleaned, place it in a safe place to dry. You should place your fake eyelashes on an object like a tissue. Store false lashes in a safe place, out of reach of children or pets.

Method 3 of 3: Preserve false lashes

1. 

   Let your fake lashes dry completely before storing them. You should not store false lashes while wet. You should leave your false lashes out for an hour before storing them.

2. 

   Put fake eyelashes in the box. You should put your fake eyelashes in the old box. Do not leave lashes in the drawer of the dressing table as dust and debris can stick to the surface. This can cause eye infections.
   • If you don't have an old box, you can use a contact lens holder. You can also purchase fake eyelash containers online.

3.
