Fence is a special type of block in Minecraft because of some specific tools. First, fences are automatically attached to other cubes in the game when placed next to them, or used as pillars when standing alone. Second, the fence is one and a half cubes high, meaning monsters and animals (except spiders) cannot jump over. They are made from wood or nether brick, and can be created or found in natural structures.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Fabrication of Wood Fences

1. 

   Collect materials.

   Collect 1 block of wood (1 wood), 4 wood planks (4 wood planks), or at least 6 sticks.

3. 

   Place the wooden block in the crafting window and then drag the plank into the inventory.

   Place the wooden planks in the crafting frame, placing one half above the other.

5. 

   Collect all the wooden sticks.

   Place 2 rows of wooden sticks on top of each other.

Method 2 of 3: Crafting Hell Brick Fence

1. 

   Collect materials.

2. 

   Collect 24 hell stone blocks (netherrack) or 6 hell brick blocks.

3. 

   Melt 24 hell rocks into hell bricks.

4. 

   Place hell bricks in 2x2 squares at the crafting table.

5. 

   Put 2 rows of hell bricks on top of each other.

6. 

   Pull the hell brick fence just crafted into the inventory. advertisement

Method 3 of 3: Natural Structure

1. 

   Find the Abandoned Mineshaft.

2. 

   Tap pillars to collect wooden fence blocks.

3. 

   Search for a village.

4. 

   Harness wooden fences, they can be table legs or used on rooftops.

5. 

   Find the nether fortress.

6. 

   Explore a window pane or gate made from hell brick fence. advertisement

Advice

• Crafting hell brick fences requires a lot of raw materials, but they can be found in hell fortresses, or walls can be searched as construction materials.
• Wooden fences are always the same no matter what wood you use for it.
