- Rinsing the rice is optional, but it can help remove excess starch and dirt from the grain, so that the rice won't get too sticky when it's done.
- With 1-2 cups (230-450 grams) of rice, you should use a 2-liter pot.
Fill the pot with clean water and stir. A suitable ratio of water to rice is 1: 1, which means you will add 1 cup (240 ml) of water to the rice pot. Use a wooden spoon to stir the rice well with water.
- Some recipes recommend using a ratio of 1 rice and 2 water. However, this amount of water is too much. You can try different ratios to choose the one that suits your own taste.
- You can replace the water with a delicious broth if you like. Chicken, beef, and vegetable broths are all good options.
- This step is optional but may result in a more delicious finish.
- You can replace the avocado with oil, such as olive oil or canola oil, if you prefer.
Turn to low heat and cover the pot. After you add the seasoning, turn the stove on to low heat. Cover the pot to keep the steam in order to cook the rice evenly.
- If there is still water in the pot after the rice is cooked, filter it out.
Open the lid and stir the rice. After 5 minutes of leaving the rice in the pot, remove the lid. Use a fork or spatula to make the rice fluffy. Better yet, you should leave the rice in the pot for another 2-3 minutes until the rice is slightly dry.
- You can store leftover rice in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Advice
- When you boil the water, make sure to cover the pot so that not too much steam can escape.
- If you live in high terrain with low pressure, you need to increase the cooking time and / or temperature.
- To make the white rice taste different, you can add pepper, herbs, onion, garlic, or your favorite seasoning to the broth to cook the rice.
- You will need to use a different method when cooking broken rice for the perfect result.
