This wikiHow teaches you how to import sample sounds, such as musical instruments or new effects, into your FL Studio music production software. If a sample sound is not available, you can download it from the FL Studio developer website.

Steps

Part 1 of 2: Import sample sounds

1. 

   Open FL Studio. The app has an orange carrot icon on a black background.
   • If there are no sample sounds to import, you can purchase them on the FL Studio developer site.

   Click the card OPTIONS (Optional) in the upper left of the FL Studio window.

   Click General settings (General settings). The option is at the top of the OPTIONS drop-down menu.

   Click the card File (File) at the top of the Settings window.

   Click the empty folder icon below the "Browser extra search folders" heading. These icons are on the left side of the window; Clicking on an empty folder opens a browser window for you to select the folder containing the template.

   Click the sample sound folder. Depending on the folder's location, you may have to click different folders in your browser window to get there.
   • For example, if the sample sound folder is in the Documents (Windows) folder, you may need to click Desktop, come Documents and finally the folder containing the template.

   Click OK at the bottom of the browser window. The folder containing the template will be imported. You will see the location of the same name as the sample audio folder pop up in the options column on the left side of the FL Studio window - this is where you will access the imported samples when making music. advertisement

Part 2 of 2: Download FL Studio's sample sound

1. 

   Visit FL Studio developer website at https://www.image-line.com/. This link will take you to the Image Line homepage.
   • If you are not logged in to your FL Studio account, please login immediately by clicking SIGN IN On the top right side of the page, enter your email address and password.
   • If you haven't purchased any version of FL Studio from Image Line, you won't be able to download sample sounds for free.

   Click the card NỘI DUNG (Content). Options are near the top of the page.

   Click Samples (Form). It's to the right of the "Type" heading near the top of the page.

   Find the sound sample you want to load. If you don't want to spend money, click the button FREE SELECTION (Free Collection) in the lower right corner of the frame to find free sound samples.
   • If you're willing to pay, everything on the site is downloadable.

   Click FREE SELECTION below the sound samples you like. You may need to choose a pre-saved location (depending on the browser). Sample sound will be downloaded to the computer.
   • You can also click ADD TO CART (Add to cart) to include the premium version of your desired sound template in the cart.Once selected, click the shopping cart link to the left of your name in the upper right corner of the screen, enter any required payment information and click CHECKOUT.

6. 

   Wait for the file to finish downloading. Once done, you will be able to import the file into FL Studio. advertisement

Advice

• To find it easy to find again, you should download the sample sound to the desktop.

Warning

• If you have not purchased FL Studio from Image Line, click it FREE SAMPLES The system will ask you to login whether you are already logged in.
