This wikiHow teaches you how to sign out of an email account in the Mail app on iPhone.

Steps

1. 

   Open the iPhone's Settings. The app has a gray gear icon located on the Home screen.

   Scroll down and tap Mail. Options are in the suite of applications Phone (Phone), Messages (Message) and FaceTime.

   Click on the option Accounts (Accounts) is at the top of the Mail page.

   Tap an account. By default there will be options icloudBesides, there are other email providers that you've added to Mail.

   Swipe the switch next to the option Mail to the left. This button will turn white. The information for the selected email account is deleted from the Mail app, essentially signed out of that account.
   • You can also click Delete Account (Remove account) at the bottom of any email account page (except iCloud) to completely remove the account from the Mail app.

   Click the Back button in the upper left corner of the screen.

   Disable remaining email accounts. Once the last email account is deactivated, you'll be completely signed out of the Mail app until you've re-enabled at least one account. advertisement

Advice

• You can re-enable your email account by going to the "Accounts" screen, tapping on any email account and swiping the switch. Mail turn right.

Warning

• You will no longer receive email notifications after disabling all accounts in the Mail app.
