1 Fill a massive glass bowl with water and ice. ' The thicker the walls of the bowl and the higher its thermal insulation properties, the better. Add as much ice as possible to the water, but so that you can completely submerge the container with the drink. The best option would be a 1: 1 ratio of ice and water. If you need to chill one or more drinks, this method is for you. If you need to chill more drinks, it is better to use a cooler or even a bathtub.![](https://a.vvvvvv.in.ua/society/kak-sdelat-dekupazh.webp)

Method 2 of 2: Chilling with a damp paper towel
1 A fully wet paper towel should be large enough to wrap around your drink. If you have a small container with a drink, you can use half a paper towel; and if the container is large, then a whole towel or even two.
2 Wrap the drink completely in a wet paper towel. Make sure to wrap completely.
3 Place the wrapped drink in the freezer for about 15 minutes.
4 Take the drink out of the freezer and enjoy the icy liquid! The paper towel will be partially frozen; you can leave it on if you want the drink to stay cold. If the drink is to be served on a table, remove the paper towel before serving.
Tips
- Smaller containers cool faster than larger containers, since smaller containers have much more surface area per unit volume in contact with cold water.Smaller containers also cool faster because they contain less liquid.
- Rinse at least the top of a chilled beverage container with clean drinking water before use. The salt left there can give the drink a salty taste.
- If you don't have salt, plain ice water will be more effective than ice alone in refrigerated containers. This is due to the fact that liquid water is a better heat conductor than air (many times over), and ice alone cannot cover most of the surface of a container with a drink.
- This method is much better than just adding ice cubes to a glass of warm Coca-Cola. Placing ice cubes directly into the drink dilutes it, losing the hiss and reducing the aroma.
- So, to have cooler air circulating between the ice blocks, place the bowl in a bag and tie it with string, then lightly shake the bowl every 15 to 30 seconds to stir the drinks.
- If you want to chill your wine quickly, the salt water and ice method can take too long due to the size and thickness of the bottle. Try placing a couple of bottles in a plastic sandwich bag, sealing it with as little air as possible, and placing it on ice in the freezer.
- If you do not have enough clean water, simply use ice over a container with a drink. Air is not as dense as water and therefore absorbs and conducts less heat.
Warnings
- Cans of carbonated water can build up pressure after stirring quickly in ice and water. Opening carbonated cans can spill the beverage onto the table, creating a mess.
