If you don't have a PayPal account or don't want to use PayPal, you will have a little difficulty making purchases on eBay. Fortunately, you can still pay without using PayPal: use a credit, debit or gift card for quick payments. Once you've completed the purchase, you'll need to confirm the order and proceed with the payment.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Pay with a credit or debit card

1. 

   Click "Buy it now". Select the product as usual. Then, click on the "Buy It Now" button. You will be taken to a screen to enter billing information.

   Register for an account (if necessary). If you haven't registered an eBay account yet, you can create one by clicking "register now". You just need to enter basic information such as name, address, phone number. If you don't want to log in, select "continue as guest" (continue as guest).

   Choose to pay by debit / credit card. Once the item is selected, you will see different payment options. Instead of choosing PayPal, choose to pay with credit or debit card.

   Enter your information. You will be taken to the screen to enter a credit or debit card number. You must enter the billing address, name, expiration date and secret code of the card.
   • If the receiving and billing address is different, please clarify this to make sure the item is not sent to the wrong address.

   Complete the payment. After entering your information, you will be asked to review your order. Make sure all information you enter is correct and confirm the payment. The amount of the order will be charged to credit / debit card. advertisement

Method 2 of 3: Pay with a gift card or coupon (coupon)

   Click "Pay Now". Select the goods you want to buy as usual. Then, click on the "Pay Now" or "Buy Now" icon. If you win the auction item, you must press "Pay Now" or "Buy Now" after you have obtained the item.

   Click on "Redeem a Gift Card, certificate, or coupon" (Use a gift card, certificate or voucher). Instead of clicking the button to choose to pay by credit / debit or PayPal, click on the button to use a gift card, certificate or coupon. You will be redirected to the code entry page.

3. 

   Insert code. Gift cards, certificates, and coupons come with a code for you to enter on the eBay site. The code is emailed or printed on the back of the card. Carefully enter the code in the corresponding text box and click "redeem".

   Go ahead and sign in to your account. Click the "apply"> "continue" button. If asked to login if not already logged in.
   • You can order as a guest if you don't have an account. You can enter a delivery address when placing an order as a guest.

5. 

   Complete the payment. Check the delivery information, name, phone number and other items for accuracy. Then, click on the "Confirm payment" button to complete the order. advertisement

Method 3 of 3: Troubleshooting common problems

1. 

   Pay as a guest if you've used PayPal before. Sometimes eBay defaults to the PayPal payment method if you've used it before. If paying as a guest, it will be easier for you to enter the information and pay by card.

2. 

   Try clearing browser history. From time to time, eBay continually switches to the PayPal payments page even though you require a different payment method. If you encounter this problem, try clearing web history and cookies. Doing so can fix this error.

3. 

   Do not link PayPal and eBay accounts. If you don't want to use a PayPal account on eBay, don't link your eBay and PayPal account. If PayPal is linked to eBay, eBay will most likely choose PayPal as the default payment method.
   • If you've already linked your PayPal and eBay account, try creating a different eBay account with a new email address.
