Put your hands inside the socks when the glue dries. Place your hand in a mouth shape, with your index finger under the other fingers. Let your hand be naturally like the shape of your mouth. The arm should be slightly bent like a snake.
- You can also make your nose with felt. Cut the felt into a triangle or small circle to make your nose look cute. Sew or paste on the top of the mouth. If you want to add more antennae, keep them under your nose.
- Also, if you want your puppet to have a beard, cut several long strands and make it a beard. Sew on the upper middle part of the mouth. Make sure they don't look like mustaches. But if you want your puppet to have a mustache, why not give it a try?
You can use the same string to make your hair. Wrap it in multiple loops to create your hair (puppets typically feature a tidy tip so you don't need to trim it), or apply felt pads to make your hair stand upside down (if glued upright), or scaly. Wow, this is going to be quite interesting! Does your puppet have ears? This is quite easy, you just need to sew the felt fabric wherever you want.
- To make a finger, simply cut two lines at the end of the felt fabric. With two cuts, you will create three fingers. Cut it so that the fingers appear spread out, like a hand. If you want, you can round off the head to make it more like the finger.
Advice
- You can make a humanoid puppet if you don't like making animals.
- You can make a wooden beard or mustache and stick it on.
- You can also attach doll earrings.
Warning
- Watch children as they sew their puppets. Because there is little or no experience in sewing, the child will need help from an adult, who is more experienced.
