After searching for an article, you decide you want to translate it into your language.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Before you get started

1. 

   Sign in (log in) / register (create account) an account on Wikipedia. Note that you can only create posts after you are logged in.

Method 2 of 2: Start translating

1. 

   Find an article to translate. For example, searching in English Wikipedia for articles that do not have links to Vietnamese translations. Wikipedia has created a tool that can be found here to help you easily find articles without translation pages.

   Start translating. Avoid inaccurate translation tools like Google. The Google Translate tool is used to translate small words, not whole articles. If you are relying on such translation tools, stop translating.
   • Download the source code for the original article, copy and paste them in the appropriate places in your post. This helps you to have clear references.
   • You can translate by going to Wikipedia in the language you want and creating an article (the usual way), then adding your translation to it.

   Save changes. After adding translation to your article (on a Wikipedia page in another language), save your edits. Write in the revised summary that you have translated this article from the English article (or from whatever language you translate).

4. 

   Add the category link to the English version. Write two square brackets, the language code and the article in its native language. This is a mandatory requirement under the license of CC BY-SA. advertisement
