This wikiHow teaches you how to unblock contacts that you previously blocked on Snapchat.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Unblock users

1. 

   Open Snapchat. It has a white ghost image on a yellow background.
   • If you're not signed into Snapchat, tap Log In (Log in) then enter your username (or email address) and password.

   Swipe down from the top of the screen. Your Profile page will open.

   Click the image button ⚙️ in the upper right corner of the screen.

   Scroll down and tap Blocked (Blocked) is under the Account Actions section near the bottom of the page.

   Click on the mark X to the right of the username you want to unblock. Reconfirm the request again.

   Click Yes (Agree). This user will be unblocked and you can contact each other.

   Add a Snapchat user just unblocked to your friends list. Depending on the person's privacy settings, you may need to add them back to your friends list (and wait for them to add them again) before you can talk to each other.
   • You can add contacts by searching for their username or scanning their Snapcode.
   • Sometimes you need to wait up to 24 hours if you want to re-add a person you removed from your friends list.

Method 2 of 2: Block users

1. 

   You need to know what blocking is. When you block someone on Snapchat, you'll also be removed from their friends list. Blocked people won't be able to find you on Snapchat and vice versa.

2. 

   Block someone in your friends list. In the friends list on the Profile screen, you can block anyone to whom you have added.
   • Swipe down from anywhere on the touch screen.
   • Click My Friends (My friends).
   • Click the person you want to block.
   • Click the gear button in the upper right corner of the username card.
   • Click Block (Block) twice.

   Block people who added you. If the person you want to block just added you to your contacts list, you can actively block them from your Profile screen.
   • Swipe down from anywhere on the touch screen.
   • Click Added Me (Just added me).
   • Swipe left on the username you want to block.
   • Click Block twice.

   Block people who text you. If the person you want to block from texting you, you can block them directly on the message screen.
   • Swipe right on the touchscreen or tap the chat icon in the lower left corner of the screen.
   • Swipe right on the conversation with the person you want to block.
   • Click the image button ☰ in the upper left corner of the screen.
   • Click Block twice.

Advice

• If you receive Snapchat from a stranger, you can change your settings so that only your friends can send you the snap. Click on the gear Settings (Setup), select Friends (Friends) is in the card Contact Me (Contact me) under "Who Can ..." (Who Can ...).

Warning

• Don't block anyone unless you're sure you don't want to see or chat with that person on Snapchat anymore.
