Have you just opened a Facebook account and found personal groups? Follow these steps and you will learn how you can make your own corner on Facebook.

Method 1 of 2: Create a New Facebook Group

1. 1 Come up with an idea for an original band.
2. 2 Go to Facebook or, if you don't have an account yet, register.
3. 3 Type keywords in the Search box on the left. Before starting a group, you should make sure that the idea is truly original. You also need to make sure that this is not just some kind of joke for friends, but something that people are really interested in.
   
   
4. 4 Click on "Profile" at the top, then click on "Info".
5. 5 Scroll down. To the right of the Groups section, click "View All"
6. 6 Click "Create Group" at the top of the page.
   
   
7. 7 Name your group. The title should be simple and clear. If it is too difficult, then no one will find your group and the number of members will be very limited.
8. 8 Invite friends to the group by selecting them from the list of friends or from the provided field.
9. 9 Describe the group in the Description column. Be specific, a keyword search will find everything written in this column.
10. 10 Fill in your contact information. Optionally, you can specify the address and phone number, or you can limit yourself to the group's email address.
11. 11 Select your privacy settings. If you create a public group, then any Facebook user can join the group and see the posts. In a closed group, only invited members join and see posts, but anyone can find the group. In a secret group, only invitees will see the group, as well as posts and members.

Method 2 of 2: How to find new members for the group

1. 1 Include as much information as possible: locations, contact information, websites and phone numbers. This will allow group members to associate the group with a specific person.
2. 2 Make a community page. Let everyone post on the group wall, start discussions and upload photos and videos.
3. 3 Let the group be open. This will allow any user to become a member. By gaining a significant number of members, you can restrict access and become more discerning. Also, if necessary, you can always delete some members.
4. 4 Use your Facebook friends. Reaching out to them is an obvious way to get early members, and it also gives your group a chance to expand. Friends of friends will see that they have joined and will want to join themselves.
5. 5 Use email contacts. On Facebook, you can send group invitations to your friends on Outlook, Yahoo, Hotmail and Gmail.
6. 6 Update content. People are more likely to join an active group. Upload photos, videos and links regularly. You can also reply and comment on posts in the group.

Tips

• It's okay to invite your friends to the group once, but don't overuse it. Think about who the group might really be interested in.
• Another way is to type "groups" into the search box and the "create group" option should be there.
• Only add personal information if you're really sure you want the group to see it.
