Nothing is more annoying than two bowls stuck together. To loosen the bowls, apply a little oil to the inner rim of the bottom bowl. The oil will help separate the two bowls. If that doesn't help, put the bottom bowl in hot water and fill the top bowl with ice. You will then be able to release the bowls easily.

To step

Method 1 of 2: Using cooking oil

  1. Pour a little oil into the crack between the two bowls. Dampen a paper towel with a little cooking oil. Wipe it over the crack between the top and bottom bowl. Gently pull or unscrew the bowls.
    • You can use olive oil, vegetable oil, or any other type of cooking oil to loosen the bowls.
  2. Spray cooking spray in the crack between the two bowls. If you don't have liquid cooking oil at home or you can't do it with cooking oil, you can use oil-based cooking spray. Simply spray a thin coat of cooking spray in the crack between the two bowls.
    • Gently pull or twist the bowls apart.
  3. Fill the sink with hot water. Put the plug in the sink drain. Place the two stuck bowls in the sink and turn on the hot tap. Let the water run down the sink and don't let water get into the top bowl.
  4. Turn the bowls in opposite directions. You can turn the bottom bowl counterclockwise and turn the top bowl clockwise, or vice versa. Put on rubber dishwashing gloves so you have more grip.

Tips

  • Before you put two bowls on top of each other, place a napkin or paper towel over the edge of the bottom bowl. This way the bowls no longer stick to each other.
  • If it concerns glasses or small dishes, hold them upside down under a hot tap.
  • Always pull apart glasses and ceramic bowls carefully.
