Now you know for sure: if you could break your boss's car tires without getting into trouble, you would! Unfortunately, you will have to come up with something else to deal with your frustrations. A voodoo doll can be the perfect solution! In this article, you can read about three methods of retaliating from the comfort of your own home.

Method 1 of 4: Method 1: Make a voodoo doll from yarn

1. Wrap a Styrofoam ball with yarn. This will be the head - how big do you want the doll to be? Whatever size it is, wrap the ball completely in yarn (or some other thread-like material) until you can no longer see the Styrofoam. Secure the end with a drop of glue.
   • If you don't have a Styrofoam ball, you can also make a ball from just wire or yarn. Wrap it around your four fingers all the time, slide it off until you have a circle. Make sure it is tight! It should not come off. Then weave the end through the center of the ball or use some glue to secure it.
2. Choose a length of the body and make some loops of some yarn of that length. Do this twice. One loop will become the left arm and left leg, the other loop will become the right arm and right leg.
   • Clearly? Suppose you want the body to be 6 inches tall (for a cute voodoo doll, you need to make the head relatively large compared to the body). Then you take a piece of yarn of 15 cm, then you loop another piece of 15 cm, then another piece and so on. After looping four or five times, cut the yarn. Repeat this again.
3. Wrap the two pieces in wire from head to toe. Start at the bottom of the loop and wrap yarn around the two loops all the way up. Make sure it is tight! Now you have two wrapped 15 cm pieces of wire.
4. Wrap a few pieces of wire around the head. Tie them well at the bottom of the head. Leave 2.5 to 5 cm of wire to be able to put everything together properly.
5. Lay out the pieces as if they were limbs. You place the two wrapped pieces under the ball in the form of arms and legs. That part you just left over is now part of the upper body.
6. Wrap thread under the "armpits" down to the "hips". Start at the top and go down and then back up again. Wrap up well if you want to make a slightly plump doll.
   • When you are just about done, wrap the last pieces around the shoulders in the shape of an X. it looks a bit like a mummy. Glue the wire to the back of the doll.

Method 2 of 4: Method 2: Make a voodoo doll with organic material

1. Gather your materials. To make an authentic New Orleans voodoo doll you will need a few basic materials: two sticks, something to serve as a filling (Spanish moss, grass or pine needles), thread or twine, strips of fabric and glue. If you want to dress the doll, you can also use buttons, feathers, pieces of clothing and other things that are reminiscent of that person.
2. Make a cross shape from the two sticks. The longest stick will be the body, the shortest stick will be the arms (placed about a quarter from the top). Tie them together with thread, hemp or twine in a crisscross motion so that you get an X shape on both sides of the doll.
3. Wrap the filling around the sticks. Start in the center for some firmness, then work your way up around the head, down around the first arm, then to the other arm, back to the center and down to the bottom.
   • If you are using Spanish moss, it is best to wrap the doll in one go. Then you get a firmer pop.
4. Wrap your scraps of fabric around the moss. Make sure you can still see some moss, for example on the head (like hair), at the ends of the arms and at the bottom. Secure it with some glue. You can make it a bit firmer with some stitches of needle and thread.
5. Make a face. Attach beads to the head with a needle and thread for eyes. Take one bead or button as a mouth.
   • This step is optional. Voodoo dolls are just as effective when they don't have faces.
6. Dress up your voodoo doll (optional). You can give the doll personality by dressing the doll, and you can indicate whether it is a man or woman. You can give the doll some more accessories, such as a "mojo pouch" or a "gris gris bag" (see below for an explanation of these New Orleans terms).
   • Remember that a voodoo doll is designed to portray a real person. You can make them look like someone you know, then you need some clothes or hair that reminds of that person. Then the doll automatically receives some of the energy of the person in question.
   • A "mojo pouch" is a pouch that a person carries with a spell, prayer or other magical item in it.
   • A "gris gris bag" usually contains a few lines of the Quran and some small objects that bring good luck to the wearer.

Method 3 of 4: Method 3: Make a voodoo doll from a photo and fabric

1. Find a picture (from head to toe) of the person you want to make a doll of. Now Facebook comes in handy! Find a photo where the person is looking forward.
2. Print the photo on a sheet of transfer paper. Transfer paper is special printing paper with which you can iron an image onto fabric, get it at Hema for example. It will eventually settle on fabric, so the bigger the photo the better. Print it as large as possible, then the doll can have the size of an A4 sheet.
3. Iron the image onto ironed white fabric. Follow the instructions of the transfer paper. Most of the time you just need an iron and some patience.
4. Trim the fabric along the shape of the image, leaving some space (2.5 cm) at the edges for a seam. This gives your doll a certain amount of substance. It is also easier to cut!
5. Cut exactly the same shape from a second piece of fabric. This will be the back of your doll. If you want you can choose a different color, voodoo dolls come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
6. Sew the pieces together. Do this with the image sides facing each other. In other words, when it's sewn on, it's inside out. Keep a hole in the middle so that you can add the filling later. Trim the excess fabric when you are done.
   • Don't worry if the hem isn't that nice. You will not see this again if you turn the doll inside out.
7. Fill the doll. You can use some leftover bits of fabric, thread, cotton, or other material for filling. Use quilt batting if you want to make a light pop, use rice or another heavier material if you want to make a pop with some bulk.
8. Sew the filling hole closed. You have created life! What are you going to do with it now? Are you going to invoke good or evil?

Method 4 of 4: Using the doll

1. Understand that you can use the doll to do good things as well as to cause harm. Popular culture may always focus on the evil aspect, but voodoo has traditionally been used just as well for blessings and good fortune.
   • To do harm with your new voodoo doll you will need nails and string. You use the nails to hurt someone and rope to pinch or hang. Read on if you want to use your doll to do good things with. Maybe not a bad idea, because whoever does good meets good.
2. Look for pins with colored heads. The color of the pin represents which part of a person's life is affected. For example, you can help someone to be successful with a yellow pin. Stick pins in the heart to bring about emotion-related things and pins in the stomach for the gut feeling. Pins in the head have to do with thoughts.
   • Yellow: success
   • White: healing
   • Red: power
   • Purple: spirituality
   • Green: money
   • Blue: love
   • Black: repel or attract negative energy
3. Bring your voodoo doll to life. If you haven't used the doll in a while, you can bring the doll back to life by sewing small items to the doll, or adding some decorations or adding more stitches and buttons.
   • Of course, your voodoo doll cannot always be active. Makes sense, if you've been lying in a drawer for a few years. To let the ghosts know that you are ready for action, you have to do things with the doll. It's like with other relationships, you have to maintain your relationship with the doll.
4. Use the doll in combination with candles and messages. Light a candle that is the same color as the pins you are using, so the corresponding goal you want to achieve. Light the candle and place a piece of paper with your wish under the candle. Hold the doll and focus on the wish.
   • When you feel like you've done what you can, put the voodoo doll next to the candle and wait for the candle to burn out. Nine days later you burn the paper and spread the ashes.
5. Make an altar for your doll. Your doll needs a home. In your bed is not the best place for a voodoo doll, so build an altar for your voodoo doll. If you have a specific desire, you can place the doll on the altar and that way focus your attention on what is needed.
   • The altar does not have to be big. There should be some room for the doll, some candles and maybe some decoration. That's enough. If you made a doll of someone else, it is a good idea to place some of that person's items on the altar (for example, some pieces of fingernail).
6. Make a voodoo kit. You can make this as a funny (but slightly strange) gift or you can make it for yourself. Place the doll in a box, along with a lighter, some colored pins and some pieces of paper. Either way, that will be a memorable birthday present!
   • Just make sure that whoever you're giving this gift to, understands what the voodoo kit is all about. Some people take voodoo very seriously, for others it is a joke. If you are in any doubt about how it will turn out, keep it for yourself and tell the birthday boy or girl that it took you days to wish them luck - and you have the proof!

Tips

• If there is text or something else graphic on the image that you are going to iron (such as text on someone's T-shirt), make sure to turn the image over before printing it. You can also cut out a heart from red fabric and place it over the text.
• In voodoo it is generally assumed that actions you take with the doll will eventually affect you. Think of it as a connection between you and the other person. What happens to them will eventually happen to you.

Warnings

• Voodoo is a sacred, spiritual religion; respect the roots of what you practice.
• Don't do this in front of people you don't trust or don't know well - some people might just think you're a strange guy.
• Spanish moss is usually full of insects and small parasites. Thoroughly inspect the moss before incorporating it into your doll.
