In this article you can read how to place text on a photo. This can be done with Paint, on a computer with Windows, with Preview, if you have a Mac, or with an app called "Phonto", which you can use on your iPhone or smartphone with Android.

Method 1 of 3: On a PC with Windows

1. Open the Start menu Type paint in the Start menu. Your computer will then look for the Paint program, which you can use to add text to a photo of your choice.
2. click on Paint. To do this, click on the icon in the form of a painter's palette at the top of the menu. This will open the Paint window.
3. click on File. This option is in the top left corner of the Paint window. If you click on it, a new window will open.
4. click on To open. It is one of the first options in the drop-down menu. This will open a window with the File Explorer.
5. Click on the folder with your photos. On the left side of the File Explorer, click the folder that contains the photo you want to write to.
   • For example, if the photo is on your desktop, you need to delete the folder Desktop search and click on it.
6. Choose a photo. Select the photo where you want to place the text by clicking on it.
7. click on To open. This button is located in the lower right corner of the Explorer window. Your photo will now open in Paint.
8. click on a. This option can be found among the "Tools" on the taskbar at the top of the Paint window.
9. Create a text field. Click on the part of the photo where you want to place the text and drag over it with the mouse. Then release the mouse button.
   • You can also simply click on the photo and place a ready-made text field on it.
10. Enter your text. Enter the text you want to include on the photo here.
    • You can change the font, size and formatting by selecting the text and using the tools in the "Font" section on the toolbar.
    • To adjust the color of the text, click a color in the "Colors" section on the toolbar.
11. Adjust the size of the text field as needed. To do this, click on one of the corners of the text field and drag down or out. This can come in handy if you've created a text field with standard text, and then resized the text.
12. Save the text on your photo. click on File then click Save in the menu that then appears. The original photo is then saved with the changes you made to it.
    • If you prefer to save the photo with the text as a separate file, click Filethen click Save as and enter a new name in the "File name" field.Finally click on Save.

Method 2 of 3: On a Mac

1. Open the Finder. Click the blue face icon in your Mac's Dock.
2. Click on the folder where your photo is stored. On the left side of the Finder window, click the folder that contains the photo you want to use.
3. Open the photo. Click twice on the photo you want to write on. The photo will then be opened in a Preview View.
4. click on Tools. This item of the menu is at the top of the screen. A drop-down menu will then open.
5. Choose Annotate. This option is in the middle of the drop-down menu Tools. A drop-down menu will then appear to the right of it Toolsmenu.
6. click on Text. It is one of the options in the menu Annotate. A text field with the word will then appear Text in your picture.
7. Enter the text here. Click twice on the word Text on the photo, then type in the word or phrase you want to write on your photo instead.
   • You can adjust the properties of the text by clicking the button a at the top of the Preview window and then selecting a different size, font, and / or color.
8. Place the text field in the right place. Move the text by clicking and dragging it, or click and drag the bubble to the left or right of the text to make the text field larger or smaller.
9. Save the photo. click on File at the top left of the screen, then click Save in the drop-down menu. The changes you have made to the text are now saved.

Method 3 of 3: On an iPhone, Smartphone with Android or tablet

1. Download Phonto. With this app you can add text to photos on both an iPhone and a smartphone with Android. This is how you open Phonto:
   • iPhone - Open the Open Phonto. Tap on OPEN in your phone's app store once the download process is complete, or tap the red app titled Phonto on the Home screen (on an iPhone) or in the App Library (on an Android phone).
   • Tap the center of the screen. A menu will then appear.
   • Tap on Photo albums. This option is almost at the very top of the menu. This is how you open the photo album on your smartphone.
     • If you have an Android phone, tap instead Load new image from phone ... in the menu.
   • Choose a photo. Tap an album where you want to open a photo, then tap a photo and Ready to open the photo in the main Phonto window.
     • On a smartphone with Android, open the photo in the Phone window by tapping the photo.
   • Create a text field. Tap the photo, then tap when prompted Add text.
     • On a smartphone with Android, tap the pencil icon at the top of the screen.
   • Enter your text. Enter the word or phrase you want to include on the photo, then tap Ready.
   • Change the text. Move the text by tapping and dragging it, or tap one of the options above or below the text to adjust the font, style, size, position and / or format of the text.
     • For example, you can press Font style click to choose a new font.
   • Save the photo. Tap the "Share" icon in the lower right corner of the screen, then tap Save Image.
     • On a smartphone with Android, tap ⋮ at the top right of the screen, then tap Save in the drop-down menu.

Tips

• Always choose a color for the text that contrasts with the background.
