Sometimes you need some extra emphasis for your text, which you get with a font with a contour or outline. Maybe the font and background colors are too close and difficult to read, or maybe you just think it looks nice. If you want to make a text look cool by outlining it, follow these simple steps to do it in Microsoft Word.
To step
Method 1 of 2: Word 2010
Select the portion of text you want to outline. Click on the font menu in the main menu on the left.
In the Advanced tab, click "Text Effects.’
Click on "Text frame" in the left box. Select the outline settings. If you have enough time, experiment to get it exactly the way you want.
Click on "Frame style" to further adjust the font.
Click "Close," then "OK."’
Your new text now has an outline. Change this as you see fit.
Method 2 of 2: Word 2011
Select the text you want to change. Select the text you want to outline.
Click on the "Format" menu. This is located at the top of the screen. Then select Font style...
Create a font with an outline. In the "Effects" group, check the box next to the word "Contour".
Click on "OK.The selected text will now be outlined.
