Powder nails are known for being quick and easy to apply, making them a popular choice when going to a nail salon. You can also remove them quickly and easily, and you can do that right at home. Powder nails can be removed with acetone and aluminum foil, or you can soak your nails in acetone. Whichever method you choose, you should get healthy and beautiful nails.

Method 1 of 2: Using aluminum foil

1. File away the top layer of each nail with a nail file. When removing, it is important to file the shiny top layer of your powder nails. File your nails thoroughly and evenly as this will make the powder come off a lot easier.
2. Soak your fingers in the acetone for 10-15 minutes. Soaking your nails for 10-15 minutes ensures that the acetone is doing its job. Try not to move the foil and cotton balls too much when you let the acetone soak into your nails.
3. Fill a large bowl or bowl with hot water. Find a bowl that you can put a smaller bowl in, and fill the large bowl with hot water. The water does not have to be boiling hot. Be careful not to burn your fingers. You can easily heat the water by putting it in the microwave for less than a minute.
4. Place 1 or 2 smaller bowls in the hot water to soak your nails. If you want to soak both hands at the same time, you will need to find 2 bowls that fit together in the larger bowl. The easiest way is to choose 1 smaller bowl that fits in the larger bowl and soak only one hand at a time.
   • Choose a smaller bowl that will fit all of your five fingers.
5. Wipe away the powder nails with a paper towel. After 10-15 minutes have passed, remove your fingers from the bowl and wipe your nails with a paper towel. Remove any residual powder with a nail file.
