If eyes are the mirrors of the soul, you want them to be as big and beautiful as possible. Here's how to apply makeup on small eyes to make them look bigger!

1. Make sure your eyebrows are in good shape. A strong, well-groomed eyebrow really has a lot of influence on the shape of your eyes.
2. Apply a primer first so that your makeup lasts as long as possible. You can do this by dabbing a primer on your eyelids and eyebrows. Using concealer and powder is just as effective.
3. The next step is to choose the color of your eyeliner. Choose a color that brings out the color of your eyes. Chocolate brown for blue eyes, purple for green eyes, black or blue for brown eyes and pinkish purple for golden brown eyes.
4. Start by applying the eyeliner to the inside of your upper lid and work your way up to the outer corner, using short strokes so you don't get a thick, solid line. It should be as close to your lash line as possible. When you are at the outer corner of the eye, draw the line a little further than where your eyelid ends.
5. Another trick is to keep shiny (no glitter!) white powder in the inner corners of the eyes, at the brow bone and just below the outer corners of the eyes. This will bring light to your eyes and make them stand out.
6. Use an eyelash curler and curl your lashes before applying mascara. Then run the brush of the mascara back and forth over your lashes, from the base of your lashes to the tips. The trick to avoiding sticky lashes is to apply the second coat of mascara before the first coat dries. Then you will not get lumps.
7. When you put mascara on your lower lashes, remember: better too little than too much! Turn the mascara brush to a vertical position and go that way along the lashes. A second layer is not recommended, because you will get lumps there faster.

Tips

• If your brows are very light or thin, fill them in with a matte shade that's just a little darker than your hair color. You can't have dramatic eyes without strong eyebrows!
• Two types of mascara that are inexpensive and effective for long, thick lashes are Maybelline New York Lash Stiletto and Covergirl Lash Blast.
• If you have dark circles under your eyes, cover them with a pinkish concealer and apply powder before continuing with your eye makeup.
• For a party, you can apply a darker eyeshadow on your lids or in the crease above your lids.
• Put white eyeliner in the lower lash line if you want bigger eyes.
