Is your Pokédex missing a final crucial strain? Jirachi is one of the rarest Pokémon, and although a Steel-type Pokémon, it only weighs a few pounds! What's more useful, however, is its array of mighty Psychic-type moves. Jirachi can be very difficult to get hold of. Except during special events (all of which are long gone), you can get it in only a few ways. Use this guide to get your own Jirachi and finally complete your Pokédex.

To step

Method 1 of 3: Using the Pokémon Colosseum Bonus Disc (US)

  1. Customize your team in Pokémon Ruby or Sapphire. You need one open seat on your team to receive Jirachi. Once you have properly adjusted your team, take the Game Boy off.
  2. Connect the Game Boy Advance to the GameCube. For this you need the special adapter cable with which two systems can be connected.
  3. Start the Bonus Disc. Load the Pokémon Colosseum Bonus Disc into the GameCube. You will go to the main menu of the Bonus Disc. Scroll to the right and select "Jirachi Special Gift".
  4. Wait for the transfer to complete. Once you select the Jirachi item from the menu, you will be prompted to connect your Game Boy. You will see loading screens on both the GameCube and Game Boy. Transfer takes approximately 30 seconds.
  5. Use your new Jirachi. Once the transfer is complete, Jirachi will be on your team and ready to go! You can use the Bonus Disc to add a Jirachi to as many Pokémon games as you want, but you can only use the Bonus Disc once per game. When you start a new game, you can use it again.
    • Once you have Jirachi, you can transfer it to your newer versions of Pokémon.

Method 2 of 3: Using the Pokémon Channel (Europe and Australia)

  1. Beat the Pokémon Channel game for the GameCube. To access Jirachi you need to watch all the programs, which will get you the Starlight Projector. This allows you to go to Camp Starlight, where you can watch the Pichu Movie.
  2. Beat the game (Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald) on your Game Boy Advance. To get Jirachi into your game, you must defeat the Elite 4. This basically means that you have to beat the game.
    • You need an empty spot on your squad to receive Jirachi.
  3. Open the Options menu from the Pokémon Channel main menu. Professor Oak will appear, after which Jirachi will emerge. After a short introductory video, click "Yes" to start the transfer.
    • You will be warned that the Elite 4 must be defeated before transferring Jirachi. Click "Yes" again to continue.
    • You will be asked if you have any space left in your team for Jirachi. Click "Yes" if you have five or fewer Pokémon in your team.
  4. Connect the Game Boy Advance to the GameCube. You need the special adapter cable for this, with which the two systems can be connected. Click "Yes" once they are connected.
    • Turn on the Game Boy when prompted.
  5. Wait for the transfer to complete. This should only take a few seconds. You will see a picture of Jirachi on the screen of your Game Boy. Turn off the Game Boy when prompted.
  6. Use your brand new Jirachi. Once the transfer is complete, Jirachi will be on your squad, ready to go! You can use Pokémon Channel to add a Jirachi to as many Pokémon games as you want, but you can only do this once per game. When you start a new game you can use it again.
    • Once you have Jirachi, you can transfer it to your newer versions of Pokémon.

Method 3 of 3: Using Pro Action Replay

  1. Enter the Jirachi code in your Action Replay. You can use your computer to quickly enter the code into the Action Replay. This is a lot easier than when you have to type in the entire code with the on-screen keyboard. Copy the following code to your word processing program:

  2. Empty your team. Jirachi will be placed second on your team, so you must clear your team to avoid problems.
  3. Press L + R. This will cause a level five Jirachi to appear on your team. You can use this code as often as you want. Don't forget to clear your team every time you use it.
    • Once you have Jirachi, you can transfer it to your newer versions of Pokémon.
