Omegle can be a rough place, and yet users get banned from time to time. If you don't have the patience to serve your ban, you can try forcing a new IP address from your internet service provider. You can also use a VPN service to get around the ban, but this will cost you a few dollars per month. Unfortunately, Omegle no longer has a contact form to contest a ban.

Method 1 of 2: Get a new public IP address

1. Wait a few days. Omegle bans usually don't last longer than a week, so with a little patience, your ban will likely go away on its own. If you can't wait, you can try getting a new public IP address.
2. Type "my IP" into Google to find your current public IP address. This is the address that Omegle sees when you connect to the website, so this is also the address they used for your ban.
   • Make a note of this address so that you can later check if it has changed.
3. Check your network hardware. This method works best if you have a cable or DSL modem and a separate router. If you have a modem-router combination, or a modem that is directly connected to your computer, this method may not work properly. You also need an ethernet port on your computer.
4. Disconnect your modem from the power. Most home connections have a so-called dynamic IP address. This means that the ISP will assign a random IP address within a certain range to each modem recognized by their network. Resetting your modem is therefore a way to link a new IP address to your internet connection.
   • Not everyone has a dynamic IP address, but most home users do. If this method doesn't work, skip to the next section.
5. Unplug your modem from your router. A dynamic IP address is usually reassigned when the modem recognizes a new MAC address. You are now going to connect your modem directly to your computer, instead of to your router, which gives the modem a new MAC address: that of your computer.
6. Leave your modem unplugged for an hour. Sometimes you get a new IP address within 30 seconds, and sometimes it takes an hour or two. The waiting time depends on the policy of your ISP.
7. Connect your modem directly to your computer. Use an ethernet cable and connect your modem directly to the ethernet port of your computer.
   • Also disconnect from any wireless networks on your computer.
8. Reconnect your modem to the mains. Plug your modem back in and wait a few minutes for it to boot up and connect. Your computer will now get its internet connection directly from the modem.
9. Check your public IP address again by typing "my IP" on Google. If your IP address is now different than it was before, you have just successfully changed your public IP address. If the address is still the same, you can try a VPN.
10. Reconnect your modem to your router if you want to renew your IP address one more time. If the above method works for you, you can get a new dynamic IP address by going through the same steps and reconnecting your modem to your router. This will give the router's MAC address to your modem, which will give you a new IP address. You can keep switching back and forth every time you want a new IP address.

Method 2 of 2: Use a VPN

1. Find a fast and reliable VPN. VPNs ("Virtual Private Network") mask your IP address by redirecting your internet traffic through a server in a different location. So Omegle will think you are connecting as the VPN server, rather than from your home network. VPN services often slow Internet speeds, so try to find one with a fast connection. This is especially important for video chat. VPNs cost money, but you usually get your money back if the service turns out not to work with Omegle.
   • Popular VPN services include IPVanish, ExpressVPN, and HideMyAss.
   • You can also try coming up with free proxy websites on Omegle, but most of them will already be banned. If you still want to try this, see Using a proxy for more information.
   • If you are often banned, this is not the most economical approach. You better try changing your IP address with the method above.
2. Register for the VPN service. When you register you will receive a username and password. You need this to be able to connect to the VPN.
3. Find the list of VPN server addresses. Your VPN service should have a list of addresses you can connect to. You can usually find it on their "support" page or in the welcome email.
4. Connect to your VPN. The process for connecting to a VPN depends on your operating system:
   • Windows - Right-click on the Network icon in the toolbar and select "Network and Sharing Center". Then click "Set up a new connection or network," and choose "Connect to a workplace" from the list of options. Click on "Use my Internet connection (VPN)". Now enter the VPN server address, followed by your username and password.
   • Mac - Click the Apple menu and select "System Preferences". Then click on the "Network" option. Click the "+" button at the bottom of the list of networks. Select "VPN" from the interface menu. Click "Create" and then select your new VPN connection from the list of networks. Enter your VPN server address, username and password. Click "Connect" to connect to your VPN.
5. Go to the Omegle website. You should no longer be banned from Omegle, provided you are properly connected to your VPN. If you are still banned, check your network connection to make sure you are really connected to the VPN and not your normal network.
   • If you are banned again you will have to change your VPN server to another one on the list.
