If you have a verified PayPal account, this means that you have provided PayPal with personal information that confirms your identity. This gives potential customers more confidence and you are now protected by PayPal as a seller. In addition, verifying your account removes all restrictions from your account and allows you to transfer money to other Paypal accounts or bank accounts.

Part 1 of 3: Linking your Bank Account to your Account

1. Log in to your PayPal account. To verify your PayPal account, you need to complete your profile and make sure all your details are entered. This means that you will have to link both your bank account and a credit card to your account.
   • If you try to link a bank account to your account in the PayPal app, you will be automatically redirected to the PayPal website.
2. Click on your Wallet in the menu. You can find this at the top of your account page.
3. Click on "Add bank account".
4. Choose a bank account type. You can link both your checking and your savings account to your account.
5. Enter your IBAN number and your bank account number. You can find this on your bank statements or via online banking. Then click on "Link".
   • You can also find the IBAN number on your bank card.
   • Your IBAN number is now the same as your bank account number. If PayPal asks for both your IBAN and your bank account number, you will probably be able to enter the same number twice.
   • PayPal will automatically be able to see which bank you are affiliated with based on your IBAN number. Some banks do not have an agreement with PayPal, although this should not be a problem with the better known banks.
6. Wait for the transfers from PayPal to appear in your account. After you have entered your details, PayPal will transfer two small amounts to your bank account. These amounts will not exceed 1 euro. It can take up to three working days for the amounts to be in your bank account.
7. Enter the value of the transfers on the verification form. You can do this by logging into PayPal and clicking "Add bank account" again.
8. Answer the confirmation phone call. After you enter the funds transferred, PayPal will automatically call the phone number you provided during your verification. During the interview you will have to answer some questions about your identity and where you live. If this call goes as desired, your account will be verified.

Part 2 of 3: Linking a Credit Card to your Account

1. Log in to your PayPal account.
2. Click on your Wallet in the menu.
3. Click on "Add credit card".
4. Enter your details on the appropriate form.
5. Click on "Save". Your address will be checked by PayPal. This may take several minutes. Once the address has been verified, the credit card will be linked to your account and you will have a Basic account.

Part 3 of 3: Adding a Phone Number

1. Log in to your PayPal account.
2. Click on the gear to open your Profile page.
3. Click "+" next to "Phone".
4. Choose what kind of phone number you want to add and enter the number.
5. Click on "Add Phone Number". Sometimes PayPal may call you to check the number.

Tips

• Your PayPal account will remain as long as your bank account is open verified. If you close the bank account that verified your account or forget to update your information, PayPal will withdraw the verification. You will then have to verify your account again.
• If you do not have a verified PayPal account, you are not covered by the protection that PayPal offers sellers. This means that you are unlikely to get money back from customers who withdraw their payment after the purchase. If you have a verified account, PayPal will in many cases be able to transfer the amount back to you.

Warnings

• Unverified PayPal accounts have a payment limit of $ 2000. Once this limit is set, you will have to verify the account in order to be able to make further transactions.
• Do not use fake bank information to verify a PayPal account. This is fraud and can have unpleasant consequences.
