This wikiHow teaches you how to view your iPhone's storage usage and the downloaded music and apps on your iPhone.

To step

Part 1 of 3: Viewing storage usage

  1. Open the settings of your iPhone. This is the gray gear icon on the home screen.
  2. Tap on General. This is at the top of the Settings page.
  3. Tap Storage & iCloud Usage. You will find this option at the bottom of your screen if your General opens.
  4. Tap Storage management under "Storage". This is the first Storage managementoption on the page.
    • The bottom part of the information pertains to iCloud. Downloads from iCloud are not stored directly on your iPhone.
  5. Browse your saved information. Here you will see a list of all apps currently on your phone. On the right side of each app you can see the amount of space it takes up (e.g. 1 GB or 500 MB).
    • Since there is no Downloads folder for an iPhone, all downloads (for example, documents) are calculated in the size of their corresponding app (for example, attachments in Messages contribute to the space that Messages take up).

Part 2 of 3: Viewing downloaded music

  1. Open the music from your iPhone. It's the multicolored music note icon on a white background.
  2. Tap Downloaded Music. It is above the "Recently Added" heading on the library page.
    • You may need to tap in the lower left corner of the screen first Library to tap.
  3. Tap a music option. These include the following:
    • Playlists
    • Artists
    • Albums
    • Numbers
  4. Scroll down to browse the music you downloaded. All music currently on your iPhone's hard drive will be listed here.

Part 3 of 3: Viewing downloaded apps

  1. Open the App Store of your iPhone. It is the white "A" on a light blue background.
  2. Tap Updates. This option is located in the lower right corner of the screen.
  3. Tap Purchased. This is at the top of the screen.
  4. Tap My Purchases.
  5. View your downloaded apps. Any app with OPEN to the right of it is currently on your phone, while apps with a cloud and a downward pointing arrow next to them are previously downloaded apps that you no longer have on your phone.
    • You can also press Not on this phone at the top of this page to view apps that are not on your phone and that you have previously purchased (or downloaded).

Tips

  • There is no official folder with "Downloads" on your iPhone.
