Method 1 of 3: Update Firefox manually

1. Open Firefox. Click the Firefox menu in the menu bar.
2. Mouse over the Help menu. Select "About Firefox".
3. Wait for the updates to install. If any updates are available, the download will start automatically. If Firefox is already up to date, simply close the About Firefox window.
   • Once the updates are downloaded and ready to install, click "Restart to Update". Firefox will be restarted and the updates will be installed.

Method 2 of 3: Configuring automatic updates

1. Open Firefox. Click the Firefox menu in the menu bar.
2. Select "Preferences ...".
3. Click the Update tab. The preferences for updating are displayed. the default setting is "Install updates automatically (Recommended: Enhanced security)".
   • You can also choose the option: "Check for updates, but let me choose whether to install them". Firefox lets you choose whether to download and install certain updates. If you do not choose this, you can download it at a later time.
