If you're using WhatsApp on Android, you'll notice that there is no way to save specific videos from chats.That's because WhatsApp automatically saves videos to your phone's photo library by default, if you don't see WhatsApp videos in the app Gallery (Library) or Photos (Image), you may have disabled this feature. This wikiHow teaches you how to ensure that the video you receive on WhatsApp is downloaded into the Android gallery app.

Steps

1. 

   Check if the video has been downloaded to your phone or tablet. WhatsApp is set up to automatically save the images and videos you receive to the Android photo gallery app. Open the app you use to view photos / videos on your Android device, then select the folder WhatsApp. Unless you have changed the settings, the video will show up here.
   • Continue this method if the video is not in your device's gallery app.

   Click on the menu ⋮. This button with three dots icon is located in the upper right corner of WhatsApp.

   Click Settings (Settings) in the menu.

   Click Data and storage usage (Data and storage usage).

   Select automatic media download setting. Select one of the three options under the "Media auto-download" heading to choose when photos and videos will be downloaded to Android.
   • If you are worried about spending a lot of mobile data, choose When connected on Wi-fi (When connected to Wi-Fi) and All media (All multimedia). Then choose No media (No multimedia) either Photos (Image) for the other two options.

   Click the back button to return to the previous menu.

   Click Chats (Chat).

   Check the box next to the line "Show media in gallery". This option is below the "Media visibility" heading. This ensures that you can find videos in your gallery, and that all future videos will also be visible in your device's photo gallery app.

    Prevent videos from specific chats from showing up in the gallery (Optional). If one of your chats has downloaded too many photos and videos on your device, you can follow these steps to turn off this feature for chats:
    • Open a conversation.
    • Tap the three-dot menu icon and select View Contact (See contact).
    • Click Media visibility. The application will ask if you want media from this conversation to show up in the gallery.
    • Choose No (No) and press OK To confirm.
