Google Docs is one of the best collaboration tools for people across the country. Here's how to upload and share your spreadsheet to Google Docs.

Steps

1. 1 First of all, prepare your spreadsheet file and place it in a directory that you can easily find.
2. 2 Start by opening your Gmail account and selecting the 'Drive' option located at the top left of the screen.
   • You will be redirected to https://docs.google.com/
3. 3 Before downloading, make sure that the 'Download settings' are set correctly. To do this, click on the gear icon -> 'Download settings' -> 'Convert downloaded files to Google Docs format'.
4. 4Move the mouse pointer down a little until you find a button that says 'Download'
5. 5 Click "Download" and a pop-up menu will appear with two types of downloads: Files and Folders.
6. 6 Select 'Files' to import your file.
7. 7 Select a file and click 'Open' in the pop-up window.

9. 9 After the file is uploaded, the Share link will appear.
10. 10 Click the Share link to open the file for sharing with your friends or colleagues.
11. 11 Enter your friend or colleague's email address.
12. 12 Set the access level for the newly added email address, select from the options "Can edit", "Can comment" and "Can view". Click on "Finish".
13. 13 After you click Finish, your spreadsheet will be marked as Shared.
14. 14 Your spreadsheet must be set up so that it can be opened with the Google Sheets tool and edited like a spreadsheet.
    • To do this, right-click on the file, select "Open With-> Google Sheets".
15. 15 Now you can open and edit the spreadsheet like in Excel, just like your friends and colleagues.
