In this article, you will learn how to restore a canceled Netflix membership not only for an existing account, but also for a deactivated account. This procedure cannot be performed from the Netflix app.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Restoring an Active Account

  1. 1 Go to the Netflix website. It is located at: https://www.netflix.com/. If you recently canceled your membership but your current billing period has not yet expired, you can restore your membership in your account settings.
    • If your membership has officially ended, proceed to the next method.
  2. 2 Click on your account name in the upper right corner of the page.
    • If you are not already signed in to Netflix, click Sign In at the top right of the page and enter your email address and password.
  3. 3 Click Your Account in the drop-down menu under your name.
  4. 4 Click Restart Membership. This button is located under the “MEMBERSHIP & BILLING” heading at the top of the page. Click on it to restore your membership.

Method 2 of 2: Reopening a closed account

  1. 1 Go to the Netflix website. It is located at: https://www.netflix.com/.
  2. 2 Click Sign In. It's a red button in the top right corner of the Netflix page.
  3. 3 Enter your Netflix email address and password. These should be the same credentials that you used to sign in to Netflix when the account was active.
  4. 4 Click Restart Membership when prompted. You will see this option in a window asking you to confirm your choice. This will restore your Netflix membership and your monthly billing period will change to reflect the current date.
    • Go to the payment methods page to confirm that they are still valid. Enter your new credit card or PayPal account information if required.

Tips

  • If you wish to delete your account, do so at least one week before the end of the current billing period so that you will not be charged for the next month.

Warnings

  • Netflix may not charge you for a new billing period on the day you reopen your closed account, but it will be charged within a few days thereafter.
