This article will show you how to install the Active Directory in Windows 10. To install the Active Directory, your computer must be running Windows 10 Pro or Windows 10 Enterprise.

Part 1 of 2: Installing the Remote Server Administration Tool

1. 1 Go to this address in your browser: https://www.microsoft.com/ru-RU/download/details.aspx?id=45520. Since Active Directory is not installed by default in Windows 10, you will have to download it from Microsoft's website.
   • If you are using a version of Windows other than Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise, the Active Directory cannot be installed.
2. 2 Click on the red button Download. Scroll down the page a little to find it.
3. 3 Click on the empty field next to File Name to select all files in the list.
4. 4 Click on Next (Further).
5. 5 Download all 6 files to your computer. Since you will need to download several files, click on "Save File" to download all of them.
6. 6 Open the Downloads folder. It's in the This PC section or on your desktop.
7. 7 Install all 6 files. Double-click the first file, and then follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation. Do the same with the remaining files.

Part 2 of 2: Enabling the Active Directory

1. 1 Open the control panel. To do this, enter Control Panel into the search bar, and then select "Control Panel" from the search results.
2. 2 Press Programs.
3. 3 Press Turn Windows features on and off. A dialog box will appear on the screen.
4. 4 Scroll down and click on + next to Remote Server Administration Tools. The list of funds will expand.
5. 5 Press + next to Role Administration Tools.
6. 6 Check the box next to Active Directory Domain Services Tools. Windows will install some files and then ask you to restart your computer.
7. 7 Press Reboot now. The computer will restart. When the computer is turned back on, Active Directory tools will be available through Administrative Tools on the Start menu.
