After the next portion of greasy food (pizza, for example), a new stain may appear on your jeans. Removing oil stains is not easy, but possible. There are actually several ways you can try to remove this oil stain.

Steps

Part 1 of 3: Remove Fat

  1. 1 Blot the stain to remove excess grease. Gently blot the oil stain with a paper towel, tissue, or cotton pad to remove any excess grease that has not yet seeped into the stain. Blot the stain as soon as the grease gets on the jeans.
  2. 2 Treat the stain with baking soda. After removing the grease, cover the entire surface of the oil stain with baking soda. Spread jeans on a flat surface and leave for at least 1 hour. Dyeing the baking soda yellow will mean that it has effectively pulled some of the grease out of the jeans.
    • If you don't have baking soda, sprinkle cornstarch on the stain.
  3. 3 Shake off the baking soda or cornstarch. After an hour, gently brush off as much baking soda or cornstarch as possible from the stain. You can do this with a damp sponge or rag, but a large fluffy makeup brush will do the job better.

Part 2 of 3: Treat the Oil Stain

  1. 1 Spray the oil stain with WD-40. Before using the WD-40, make sure the spray tube is attached to the jar so that you can control the spraying process. Spray WD-40 all over the stain and let sit for 15-30 minutes.
  2. 2 If you don't have WD-40, use hairspray. Like WD-40, hairspray will remove most of the oil stain. Aim the spray nozzle at the oil stains and cover them whole with hairspray. Set your jeans aside for a few minutes.
  3. 3 Treat the stain with dish soap. In addition to removing grease from dishes, dish soap can also help remove grease from your jeans. Simply apply the product to all oily areas.
  4. 4 If you don't have dish soap available, use shampoo on the stain. Many shampoos, especially those for people with oily hair, remove excess sebum (sebum) to give your hair a cleaner look. Shampoo the stain to remove grease from your jeans.
  5. 5 Use a toothbrush to scrub the stain. Rub dish soap or shampoo into the stain in circular motions to remove as much grease as possible.
  6. 6 Rinse the area with hot water. Take your jeans to the sink or tub and rinse them with hot water. Keep the jeans under water and rinse the stain until all the soap suds are removed.

Part 3 of 3: Wash your jeans

  1. 1 Add jeans, detergent, and vinegar to the washing machine. Put jeans and regular detergent in the washing machine. Then measure out half a glass (120 ml) of white vinegar and pour into the special compartment of the washing machine. The vinegar will help remove excess grease from your jeans.
  2. 2 Wash your jeans in hot water. While some stains are easier to remove with cold water, hot water is best for oil stains. Set the washing machine to wash in hot water and press Start.
  3. 3 Hang your jeans to dry. Drying your jeans in the dryer will cause the remaining stains to stick, making it much more difficult to remove grease. After finishing the wash, remove the jeans from the washing machine and hang them on the clothesline.
  4. 4 Repeat the entire process again if necessary. When the jeans are dry, take a close look at the area where the stain was. If the stain remains, repeat the cleaning process again. Do not dry your jeans in the dryer while stains are visible on them.
