This article talks about how to be like the always cool Shadowhunters (Demon Hunters) from Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series. This is mostly for girls, but some of the tips can be adapted for guys, so we hope everyone takes note of something useful from here. Enjoy!

Steps

1. 1 Determine which character is closer to you. If you're shy but fun, creative, and a bit of a tomboy, then you're closer to Clary. If you are insane, daring, beautiful, but dangerous, then you are Isabelle. Jace is arrogant, forethought, strong and witty, Alec is insecure and inconspicuous, but very reliable and loyal. 2. 2 Go through your wardrobe. Some tips: Black is great, but don't give up on other colors, Shadowhunters are not Goths (even Goths wear colored things.) Pick a color that matches your hair color (or the color you want to dye) and skin tones, for example, green suits a red-haired girl like Clary, or purple for a girl with Isabelle's striking pallor and dark hair. Last but not least, try to avoid prints and remember that Shadowhunters cover their legs and arms to hide their marks so they can get lost in the crowd.
3. 3 Some suggestions for the wardrobe: a nice long velvet or silk raincoat will look good monotonous. Long dresses and skirts, high-heeled boots. A more comfortable outfit would be jeans and long-sleeved T-shirts (no logos or lettering unless you get ideas from Clery).It is worth recalling that the current outfit of Shadowhunters is tight-fitting clothing made of leather, most often black. Obviously, you don’t have to go around in leather skinny pants if you don’t want to (if you wear them, we wish you patience), but you can, of course, wear regular black skinny jeans with a black long-sleeved T-shirt.
4. 4 Decide on a hairstyle. Hair, what's your style? Sometimes bright colors suit calm girls like Clary, sporty and unusual hairstyles suit girls like Isabelle with straight black hair, although great for girls with pale skin and any hair color, the mahogany shade perfectly neutralizes pallor. Haircut and texture can be anything, although Shadowhunters prefer sleek, even hair or softer hairstyles.
5. 5 Train your self-confidence. Learn a few lines from the book and use them in a suitable situation, and, of course, come up with something of your own. Notice the difference between the characters' voices, how perceptive they are. Jace is arrogant, Izzy is disgusting, Clary is sarcastic and Alec is unflappable.
6. 6 Marks, all Shadowhunters have them. Find a pair of runes on Google Images or use the Shadowhunter Codex. Use them carefully and use a black felt-tip pen to draw them if you wish (be aware of the danger of ink poisoning). If you want, you can get a tattoo, but there is a lot to think about on this topic, so it is better to leave this for other articles.
7. 7 Sign up for kickboxing or other martial arts classes. It will help you feel more confident and will save you the trouble with the people around you; you will also be more like a Shadowhunters character.
