1 Grate the beeswax to melt it faster. In online stores, cosmetic beeswax can be purchased both in the form of small granules and in the form of bars. If you bought wax in granules, then you do not need to grind it further. But if you bought a bar of wax, grate it into a small bowl to make it easier for you to combine it with the other ingredients. The volume of the rubbed cosmetic wax should be about 2 tablespoons (30 ml).
  • The more beeswax you use, the denser the lip gloss will be.

Advice: The ingredients in the above recipe are enough to make 13-14 cans of glitter, and is a great option if you want to give some of them away. If you don't need that much lip gloss, reduce the volume of the ingredients in half so that the batch is not so large.

  • 2 Measure out the required amount of ingredients into a glass beaker with a spout. Measure out 4 tablespoons (60 ml) grape seed oil or olive oil, 2 tablespoons (30 ml) coconut oil, 2 tablespoons (30 ml) cocoa butter or shea butter, and 2 tablespoons (30 ml) grated wax. Open 3 vitamin E capsules with scissors and squeeze the contents into the same measuring beaker.
    • Using a beaker with a spout will make it much easier to pour the glitter into the jars, but if you don't have one, a regular glass bowl will do.
    • Do not put vitamin E capsules in the container!
  • 3 Prepare water bath on the stove. Take a saucepan large enough to hold a measuring beaker (or bowl) of ingredients, and pour the water into it in a layer of 5-7.5 cm. Then place the saucepan on the stove over medium heat, then place the beaker (bowl) inside with ingredients.
    • Make sure that no water gets into the ingredients, as it simply won't mix with them and can ruin your lip gloss.
    • If you do not have access to the stove, you can melt the ingredients in the microwave. Just don't burn them while doing this. Try to heat the ingredients in stages for 10-15 seconds at a time, and then be sure to stir them to check the consistency.
  • 4 Stir occasionally until completely melted and mixed. Use a silicone spatula to remove splashing ingredients from the sides of the container, thereby ensuring thorough mixing. As soon as the composition becomes completely homogeneous without any lumps, it can be considered ready!
    • If you don't want to mess around with cleaning the silicone spatula later, you can use a disposable plastic spoon instead.
  • 5 Pour the composition into the gloss jars while still warm. The lip gloss will be much easier to pour into the container while it is still hot or warm. Once it has cooled down, it will not be so easy to do. Use special gloss jars, not regular containers or empty lipstick tubes. This recipe will allow you to get a lip gloss rather than a balm, the consistency of which will be slightly thinner than a balm.
    • If you have difficulty pouring gloss into a container, use a funnel.

Advice: you can buy jars for lip gloss in online stores. You can use both plastic tubes, from which the gloss must be squeezed out, and a container with an applicator brush. Any option will suit you.

  • 6 Let the lip gloss cool in the container for 20 minutes before using it. The time allowed for cooling should be sufficient for the gloss to harden a little and not be too liquid. As soon as it cools down, you can start using it!
    • If you want to cool down the shine faster, put it in the refrigerator.
  • Method 2 of 4: Vaseline-based lip gloss

    1. 1 Place 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of petroleum jelly in a microwave safe bowl. Optionally, use 2 bowls to make two different shades of lip gloss, or limit yourself to one bowl for multiple jars of the same lip gloss. Since you won't have many ingredients, you can use a very small bowl instead of dirtying a large container.
      • You can buy petroleum jelly at the pharmacy.
    2. 2 Add 1 teaspoon of lipstick to a bowl of petroleum jelly. Use less lipstick if you want to give the gloss just a subtle shade, or use more lipstick to make the color of the gloss richer.Just cut off the part of the stick you want from the lipstick pencil and place it in a bowl.
      • If you don't have the right lipstick, you can use eyeshadow or blush to give your lip gloss the color you want.
      • Additionally, you can use 1-2 drops of your favorite essential oil or a small pinch of glitter.
    3. 3 Preheat the composition in the microwave for 10-30 seconds (to start). Then see if the ingredients have melted. If not, return the bowl to the microwave and heat for another 10-20 seconds.
      • Be careful when using the microwave. The bowl may be hot by the time everything is ready.

Advice: if you don't have a microwave, use a water bath to melt the ingredients on the stove.

    4. 4 Use a disposable spoon to mix the Vaseline into the lipstick. Stir the ingredients for 10 seconds or so to mix thoroughly. Do not let the lip gloss turn out to be uneven!
      • If you don't have a disposable spoon, no big deal. Its presence will only simplify your subsequent cleaning, but instead of it you can use a regular spoon, you just have to wash it later.
    5. 5 Pour the lip gloss into jars. You can use soft tubes, applicator brush bottles, gloss jars, or any other container you like. Just remember that these containers must have lids.
      • Pour the glitter into the jars as quickly as possible after melting and mixing the ingredients. The hotter it is, the easier it will be for you to work with it.
    6. 6 Let the lip gloss cool for 20 minutes before using it. Leave the glitter pots on the counter, or move them to the refrigerator to chill a little faster. Once the lip gloss cools down, it will no longer be liquid, but will acquire the perfect consistency to apply to the lips!
      • This lip gloss is perfect for keeping in your purse or desk. In addition, it can be a great gift.

Method 3 of 4: Moisturizing Coconut Lip Gloss

    1. 1 Melt the coconut oil and cocoa butter in the microwave. Measure out 2 tablespoons (30 ml) coconut oil and 1 tablespoon (15 ml) cocoa butter in a small microwave safe bowl. Microwave the ingredients in stages, at 10 second intervals, until they are liquid.
      • The entire process of melting the ingredients will take you no more than 30-40 seconds.
    2. 2 Squeeze the contents of the vitamin E capsules into a bowl. Open the capsules with scissors and squeeze the liquid out of them into a bowl. Throw away the capsule shell and do not place it with the ingredients.

Did you know? Vitamin E helps protect lips from the negative effects of the sun while moisturizing and softening them.

    3. 3 Add lipstick or essential oil to the ingredients for a tinted or scented lip gloss. One or two drops of your favorite essential oil will transform the shine into a miniature form of aromatherapy. A teaspoon or so of lipstick will tint the lip gloss and make it more interesting for everyday use.
      • You can also use a small amount of eyeshadow, blush, or beetroot powder to tint the shine.
    4. 4 Stir the ingredients until smooth. Use a disposable spoon for easy cleaning later. Stir the ingredients for about 10 seconds, remembering to scrape the ingredients off the sides of the bowl for a good mix.
      • It is best to do this while the formula is still warm, so do it right after heating the coconut oil with cocoa butter and adding any additional ingredients you want to use.
    5. 5 Pour the lip gloss into jars and let cool for 20 minutes. Coconut oil has a rather low melting point, so do not pour lip gloss based on it into tubes from under the lipstick pencil, as it can simply leak out of them even with slight heat. Better to use small jars with lids. You can search for them in your local beauty supply stores or order them online.
      • Try throwing a lip gloss party with your friends! In doing so, everyone can create their own favorite shades of glitter. And then you can exchange them so that everyone has a large palette of shades to choose from.

Method 4 of 4: Brightening Scent, Color, and Extra Shine

    1. 1 Flavor your shine by adding 3-4 drops of your favorite essential oil. After you prepare the composition (but before pouring it into jars), add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to it and stir. Try the following scents:
      • peppermint essential oil for a distinctive fresh scent;
      • essential oil of orange or lime for citrus aroma;
      • essential oil for a soothing effect.
    2. 2 Use blush or beetroot powder to add color to the shine. Simply scrape about half a teaspoon of your chosen pigment into melted lip gloss. Stir until smooth and then pour into jars.
      • The more pigment you add, the richer the color of the lip gloss will turn out. Experiment with the amount of pigment to find the best color for you.
    3. 3 Add a teaspoon of lipstick to the gloss for a unique shade. Add lipstick to the lip gloss for a richer color. Place the lipstick in the ingredients container before putting everything in the water bath.
      • You can use red, pink, purple lipstick, or even bolder colors to add some shade of shine.
    4. 4 Create a shimmery lip gloss by adding cosmetic glitters. Start by adding half a teaspoon of glitter (about 2 g) to the melted lip gloss. Stir the composition thoroughly before pouring it into the jars.
      • For your own safety, do not use craft glitter. Cosmetic glitter is specially designed for skin contact and is not as harmful if ingested.

Advice: be careful not to use too much glitter. Too much of it can change the consistency of the lip gloss and make it grainy.

    Tips

    • To clean the mixing bowl, place it in a pot of boiling water. This will help you melt the remaining ingredients again. Then use a kitchen sponge to wipe the container. If you have used beeswax, discard the used sponge and do not leave it for later use.
