In this article, we are going to show you how to reset the wireless password on your D-Link router. If you have forgotten the password for the configuration page of the router, reset it to factory settings.

Method 1 of 2: Reset your wireless password

1. 1 Go to your router's configuration page. To do this, launch a web browser, enter the IP address of the router in its address bar, and then click ↵ Enter or ⏎ Return.
   • If you don't know the IP address of your router, try entering 10.0.0.1, 192.168.0.1, or 192.168.1.1.
2. 2 Log in with your administrator username and password.
3. 3 Click on Wireless settings (Wireless network settings). You will find this option in the left pane.
4. 4 Click on Manual wireless connection setup (Manual wireless setting).
5. 5 Scroll down to the Pre-shared key field. If there is no such field, select the security mode from the drop-down menu at the bottom of the page.
6. 6 Enter a new password.

Method 2 of 2: How to reset the administrator password

1. 1 Take a paper clip or similar sharp object. To reset the administrator password, you need to reset the router settings. To do this, insert a straightened paperclip or similar object into the Reset button hole on the router.
2. 2 Find the "Reset" button. Typically, it is located on the back of the router. This button is recessed and can only be reached with an object that looks like a paper clip.
3. 3 Press the button with a paper clip and do not release it for a few seconds. When the lights on the router start blinking, consider that the settings have been reset. Now, to enter the router's configuration page, use the default password.
