It is impossible to completely remove a scratch from the LCD, but you can try to mask it with a special protective coating. If a scratch appears on the LCD of your phone, monitor, or TV, you have several options for how to get rid of it, depending on whether it is subtle or eye-catching. If the scratch on the LCD is small, you can get rid of it yourself with the Professional Scratch Removal Kit. Method 1 of 2: Removing a scratch with a professional kit

1. 1 Assess the damage. LCD Scratch Removal Kits are effective for removing surface scratches, but not for deep cracks in plastic.
2. 2 If the scratches are light, you can purchase a professional scratch removal kit. Displex Display Polish and Novus Plastic Polish are of good quality and sold on Amazon and other online sites. You can also inquire about such sets in stores selling various equipment.
3. 3 Purchase a microfiber cloth if not included in the kit. Microfiber cloths, unlike paper and traditional cloths, do not scratch the screen when polished.
4. 4 Turn off your TV / phone / laptop. Scratches are more visible on a dark screen, so it is recommended that you turn off your device.
5. 5 Open the scratch removal kit and read the instructions. It usually says to spray the solution onto the scratch and the area around it, and then gently polish with a microfiber cloth.
6. 6 Spray a small amount of the solution onto the scratch. There should be a thin layer of solution on the screen.
7. 7 Using a microfiber cloth, carefully buff off the scratch. Do this until the screen is dry.
   • Rub the solution in a circular motion, and not up and down and left and right. The scratch should disappear shortly.

Method 2 of 2: Buying a New LCD Screen Cover

1. 1 Assess the damage. If the screen is scratched so badly that it significantly affects the look and feel, but the LCD itself is intact, it is wise to purchase a new screen protector. If the LCD is damaged (part of the screen turns black or rainbow stripes appear), the cost of repair is likely to be high. In this case, it is easier to purchase a new phone / TV / laptop.
2. 2 Find out your TV / laptop / phone model. Typically the model number is located on the back of a TV or phone, or on the bottom of a laptop. This number is required to purchase the correct screen type.
   • Make sure you know the manufacturer of your device (eg Sony or Toshiba).
3. 3 Open a search engine.
4. 4 Enter the manufacturer's name, model number and "screen". The high cost of the screen does not always mean the high quality of the replacement part, so please check all the options carefully before buying a new screen protector.

Tips

• If the scratch is small enough that you can definitely remove it, consider not touching it at all. Trying to remove a scratch can only worsen the condition of the screen.
• Screen protectors are inexpensive and great for protecting your screen from scratches.

Warnings

• Do not try to remove the scratch with anything other than a professional kit. Petroleum jelly, nail polish, toothpaste, and any other folk remedies can only ruin your screen.
• Although there are many tutorials on YouTube and the internet on how to change your LCD screen protector yourself, you are at a very high risk of damaging your LCD if you do it yourself.
