1 Open the Adobe website, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.
  • 2 Open a site that contains Flash animations or Flash movies that you want to save on your computer.
  • 3 Go to the page with the animation or video you need. Right click on the page and select Page Source (or something similar) from the menu.
  • 4 A new window with HTML code will open. Press Ctrl + F to open the search box. Enter .swf and search.
    • A Flash game file typically contains the name of the game plus the .swf flash file extension.
  • 5 Find the address (URL). Copy this address (URL) and paste it into the address bar of your browser. Press Enter to load the SWF file in your browser.
  • 6 Open the browser menu and select "Save As" (or "Save Page", or something like that). This will save the selected flash file to your computer's hard drive.
  • 7 In the window that opens, select the folder where the flash file will be saved.
  • 8 Give the flash file an appropriate name to make it easier to find. Then click "Save".
    • The flash file is named by default, but you can change it.
  • Tips

    • Most browsers (including Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome) support flash files. But you need to install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player to view Flash files in your browser.
    • The above method does not work with some flash files. They cannot be saved as they are encrypted by the developers of the flash files to prevent them from being copied and used. Such files (if you managed to save them), most likely, will not open on your computer.
