Want to play Pokemon on your iPhone? With a dedicated emulator app and game files, you can play almost any of the Pokemon games on your device! You can install any game from the Pokemon series up to Black & White 2 on your iPhone. It is currently not possible to play Pokemon X or Y on an iPhone.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: No device jailbreak

1. 1 Don't upgrade to iOS 8.1. Apple's iOS 8.1 update corrupts the GBA4iOS emulator. You will not be able to install or use this application after the update. If you want to keep using the GBA4iOS emulator, then don't upgrade to 8.1.
   • If you have already upgraded to 8.1, then you will have to jailbreak your iPhone to install GBA4iOS.
2. 2 Open the Settings app on your iPhone. To install the Game Boy Advance emulator on your iPhone, you will have to change the date. You will have to change the date every time you restart your iPhone.
   • You will be able to use the emulator to play Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen, and Originals.
3. 3 Click General.
4. 4 Click Date & Time.
5. 5 Disable the "Install automatically" option.
6. 6 Set the date back one day. Better yet, set the date back one month.
7. 7 Open Safari on your iPhone.
8. 8 In a browser, open the GBA4iOS website:gba4iosapp.com.
   • If you want to play the Nintendo DS version of Pokemon (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HG SS, Black, White, B2, W2), you need the NDS4iOS emulator, which can be downloaded from the website iEmulators.com... In this case, change the date as well.
9. 9 Click Download GBA4iOS 2.0.
10. 10 Click on the download link. If you are using iOS 7 or 8, click Download GBA4iOS 2.0.X. If you are using iOS 6, click Download GBA4iOS 1.6.2.
11. 11 Click Install to install the application. It may take some time to download the application.
12. 12 Open GBA4iOS. After installing the app, you can find its shortcut on the home screen. Click on this shortcut.
13. 13After launching the application, click "Trust".
14. 14 Find the ROM files of the Pokemon game. These are the game files to be downloaded. Use Safari to find these files.
    • CoolROM is the best resource for downloading ROMs.
    • You can legally download ROMs for the games you own.
15. 15 Download ROM files. Once you find the Pokemon ROMs, download them to your iPhone by clicking on the appropriate link on the website.
16. 16 Open the downloaded file in GBA4iOS. When the download is complete, the system will ask you to specify the application in which to open the downloaded file. Select GBA4iOS from the list.
17. 17 Change the date to the current date. After starting GBA4iOS for the first time, you can revert the date settings to automatic installation.
    • You will have to change the date after the next iPhone reboot.

Method 2 of 2: Jailbreaking the device

1. 1 Hack your iPhone. This method depends on your device, but there are reliable jailbreak programs for any version of iOS.
   • Read How to jailbreak an iPhone.
   • Hacking will allow you to use applications that are not in the Apple Store, which means you can install GBA4iOS without changing the date.
   • Hacking is risky and will void your warranty. If the jailbreak fails, you may lose access to your device.
2. 2 Launch Cydia on your jailbroken iPhone. It is a package manager for jailbroken devices that allows you to install applications that are not in the AppleStore.
3. 3 Find GBA4iOS. GBA4iOS is included in the Cydia repository, meaning you can download GBA4iOS using Cydia. Search for GBA4iOS and click on it in the search results.
   • If you want to play the Nintendo DS version of Pokemon (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HG SS, Black, White, B2, W2), you need an NDS4iOS emulator that can be installed in a similar way.
4. 4 Click Install to install GBA4iOS. Click "Confirm" to start downloading.
5. 5 Open GBA4iOS. After installing the app, you can find its shortcut on the home screen. Click on this shortcut.
6. 6 Find the ROM files of the Pokemon game. These are the game files to be downloaded. Use Safari to find these files.

7. 7 Download ROM files. Once you find the Pokemon ROM files, download them to your iPhone by clicking on the corresponding link on the website.
8. 8 Open the downloaded file in GBA4iOS. When the download is complete, the system will ask you to specify the application in which to open the downloaded file. Select GBA4iOS from the list.
