Content
Only with a closed Twitter account, you can manage the applications of users who want to follow you. Despite the lack of an official way to unsubscribe a user from an account, subscribers can still be denied access to their Twitter feed. Blocking and then unblocking a user will remove him from the list of subscribers without notifying about it.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: On a mobile device
1 Tap the Twitter app.
2 Tap the person-shaped icon in the lower-right corner of the screen.
3 Tap the Followers option at the top of the screen, just above the Tweets, Media, and Likes tabs.
4 Tap the subscriber you want to block. This will take you to his profile page.
5 Tap the gear icon to the right of your subscriber's profile picture.
6 Tap the "Block (username)" option.
7 When prompted, select "Block" to block this subscriber.
8 Tap the red Locked icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
9 Select "Unblock" from the dropdown menu. From now on, this user will no longer be subscribed to your account.
Method 2 of 2: On the computer
1 Go to your Twitter page. If you are not already signed in, enter your email address (or phone number / username) and password.
2 Click the Followers tab on the left side of your Twitter feed, just below your profile picture.
3 Click on the More Actions gear for the selected user. It can be found to the left of the Read (or Reading) button in the user's information panel.
4 Click on "Add (username) to blacklist" in the drop-down menu.
5 Click on the "Blacklist" button to confirm the action.
6 Click on the "Blocked" button in the upper right corner of the subscriber's profile. This will remove it from the blacklist as well as from the subscriber list.
Tips
- You can get to the user's profile page in various ways, for example, by clicking on his name in your feed or through the search bar on Twitter.
- Blocked users will not be able to contact you on Twitter.
Warnings
- If you do not have a closed account, blocking and then unblocking a subscriber will not prevent him from following you again.
