This article will show you how to hide Recently Played Artists on the Spotify app for Android devices. You may not care that your followers and friends can see what you are listening to, but sometimes you may want to hide this information from prying eyes. There are two easy ways to do this.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Hide Recently Played Artists

1. 1 Open the Spotify app. First, you need to open the Spotify app, which is either on one of the home screens or in the app drawer.
2. 2 Click on the tab Your Library (Your Library) in the bottom menu. The Your Library tab is to the right of the navigation bar and looks like a stylized image of records on a shelf. Click on this image.
3. 3 Scroll down to section Recently Played (Recently listened to). There are many items in the Your Library section, but you have to scroll down to find the Recently Listened tab. In this section, you will see artists, albums and playlists that you have recently listened to.
4. 4 Click on the image of three vertical dots ⁝ next to the position you want to hide. Find in this list what you would like to hide, and click on the icon in the form of three vertical dots to the right of the composition.
5. 5 Click on the item Hide (Hide). A menu will open with options for the available actions. Scroll down to Hide and select it. This will remove the “delicate” track or artist from your Recently Listened section.

Method 2 of 2: How to Hide Spotify Activity on Facebook

1. 1 Open the Spotify app. If you don't have the Spotify app open yet, do so now. The app icon is located either on one of the home screens or in the app drawer.
2. 2 Click on the tab Your Library (Your Library) in the lower right corner of the screen. You will find the "Your Library" tab icon on the right side of the bottom navigation bar. It looks like two vertical lines next to the third slanted line. Click on this icon to enter your library.
3. 3 Click on the "Settings" tab in the upper right corner of the screen. In the upper right corner of the application screen, you will see a settings icon that looks like a gear. Click on this icon.
4. 4 Scroll down to Social "Social media". The settings page is divided into several subsections, and you need to scroll down until you see the Social Media section.
5. 5 Move the slider bar to position opposite point Private session (Private mode). The item "Private mode" is in the section "Social networks"; you need to move the slider to the active position. This will hide your Spotify app activity on your Facebook page. Just keep in mind that each such session is automatically ended if your account remains inactive for six hours.
6. 6 Disable the function if desired. Listening Activity (Show my actions). You can also turn off the Show My Activities feature, which is right below the Private Mode item. Move the slider to the left to disable this feature and hide your music preferences from subscribers and other Spotify users.

Tips

• The PC version of the Spotify app is more user-friendly than its mobile counterpart. If you have the option to install the Spotify app on your PC, you will find more flexible privacy settings there.
