Google Chrome is a lightweight free browser suitable for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Android and iOS. Follow our directions to download and install it.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: How to Download Chrome for PC / Mac / Linux

1. 1 Go to https://www.google.com/chrome/ in your browser. You can use any browser to download Google Chrome. If you have not already installed the browser, you can use the built-in browser of your operating system (Internet Explorer for Windows and Safari for Mac OS X).
2. 2 Click Download Chrome. The "Terms of Service" window will open.
3. 3 Indicate if you want to make Google Chrome your default browser. If so, it will open every time you click on links in other programs, such as email.
   • You can also allow data to be sent to Google by checking the "Allow automatic submission of usage statistics ..." checkbox. Then the computer will send information about crashes, preferences and button clicks to Google. Neither your personal information nor information about the sites you visit will be sent.
4. 4 Read the Terms of Service and click Agree & Install. The installer will start, and when it finishes, Google Chrome will be installed. Depending on your browser settings, your consent may be required to run the installer.
5. 5 Sign in to Chrome. After installation, a Chrome window will appear with information for new users. You can sign in to Chrome with your Google account to sync your bookmarks, preferences, and browsing history with any other Chrome browser you use on another device. If you have questions about using the browser, please use the "Help" section of the menu.
6. 6 Download the offline installer (optional). The steps above will install Chrome on a computer with an internet connection. If you would like to download an offline installer so that you can install Chrome offline, enter “offline chrome installer” in your browser's search bar and click the first link to the Chrome support site. On this page you can download the offline installer.
   • There is an installer for individual users, and there is an installer for all computer users. Make sure to download the installer you want.
   • When you download the installer, transfer it to the computer you want to install Chrome on and run it to install Chrome exactly as you would install any downloaded program.

Method 2 of 2: How to download Chrome for your mobile device

1. 1 Open the store on your device. On Android it's called the Play Store, and on iOS it's called the App Store. Chrome can be installed on Android 4.0 and above and iOS 5.0 and above.
2. 2 Find Chrome. It must be published by Google, Inc.
3. 3 Click the "Install" button to start downloading and installing the application. Before installation, you may be prompted to agree to the manufacturer's terms.
4. 4 Open the app. When you open Chrome for the first time, it will ask you if you want to sign in with your Google account. This will sync bookmarks, preferences, and browsing history with any other Chrome browser you use on your other device.

Tips

• After installation, you can customize the home page.
• For optimal performance, Google Chrome requires 350 MB of free disk space and 512 MB of RAM. Before installing Chrome, make sure your computer has enough resources.
