1 Find a neat glass jar. It can be either a simple jar or a jar from under some kind of conservation. In this example, a low glass is used as the container for the candle.
  • 2 Decorate the bottom of the glass. Add decorative items such as sand, glass, pebbles, small plastic toys, artificial gems, or anything else that you find pretty and can be flooded with water.
  • 3 Pour in water. When adding water, turn on the tap lightly: this way, you will not spoil the jewelry and will not wash them off the glass. Or pour in water gradually from a jug.
  • 4 Pour a layer of vegetable oil onto the surface of the water. It should be enough to cover the entire surface.
    • Find a piece of wick 2.5 cm long.
    • Cut the Vacuform plate to fit the width of the glass.
    • Insert the wick into the hole in the plate, with the folded edges up.
  • 5 A wick should be visible from the underside of the plate, no longer than 3 mm.
  • 6 Dip the Vacuform plate with wick in the oil in the glass. The wick should not be turned into water. (Adjust decorations to help keep the plate higher.)
  • 7 Ready. Light your water candles and enjoy their unearthly light.
    • This spark plug must not be moved after lighting because of the hot oil. Therefore, set it on fire only in the place where it will stand.
  • Tips

    • Trim the wick to avoid the smell of burning and smoky flames.
    • Check the water and oil level regularly. Extinguish the spark plug if the water or oil level is too low.
    • For a special gift, try taking a small crystal-shaped jelly jar and tying a ribbon around the lid. Fill the jar with all the ingredients for a water candle and your gift is ready!
    • Make sure that no "little hands" can reach such a candle.
    • You can also paint on the outside of the glass.
    • Place the candle on aluminum foil or a heat-resistant saucer.

    Warnings

    • Light candles in an open area away from flammable materials.
    • Never place the candle on the floor, or someone could accidentally trip over.
    • Never leave candles unattended.
    • Children should only do this under the supervision of their parents! This project is suitable for children aged 12 and up.
    • Do not dip your fingers in hot oil or try to move the candle after you have lit it.
    • Do not touch the glass jar while the candle is burning.
