The Minecraft PE world generator uses series of letters and numbers called "seeds" to build a world you can play in. Random worlds are created with these seeds, but entering a specific sequence of characters ensures that you can explore exactly the same world as someone else using the same seed. You can find seeds on just about any Minecraft PE fan site or forum, which will allow you to explore countless unique worlds. If you are looking for instructions on how to grow crops in Minecraft, check out wikiHow.

To step

  1. Understand what a seed is. In Minecraft, the "seed" is a series of letters and numbers that define a world that can be created by the game's world building program. It ensures that everyone with that seed will experience the same world, as the world generator will generate the exact same results when the seed is entered.
  2. Understand that the seeds work differently in different versions. When the world generator is updated in Minecraft PE, seeds will behave differently than before. This is especially important in later versions of Minecraft PE where "Infinite" worlds were created. Most websites where you can find seeds should also list the versions they are intended for.
    • "Infinite" worlds are levels that can stretch out forever, and are created in a different way than "old" worlds. This means that seeds for old worlds will give a different result when used to create an Infinite World, and vice versa.
    • Infinite Worlds were added to Minecraft PE in version 0.9.0, and are not available on some of the older devices.
  3. Find the seed you want to use. There are tons of seeds to try. Most Minecraft fan sites have a Seeds section that lists seeds, along with a description of the world that will be created. Note that if the seed is a word, that does not imply that the world being created has anything to do with the word itself. A seed with a name like forest probably won't create a whole bunch of forests, and a seed named winter doesn't make a winter wonderland.
  4. Enter a seed for creating a new world. You can enter the seed when starting a new game.
    • In the "Create a world" window, tap the "Advanced" button.
    • Select your world type ("World type"). For newer seeds, select infinite ("Infinite"), unless the site clearly states otherwise. If you don't see the option "Infinite" or "Infinite", you will have to use a seed for an "Old" world, because your device does not support Infinite worlds.
    • Enter your seed in the "Seed" field. Seeds are case sensitive, so make sure you enter each letter correctly. A capital letter in a seed will create a completely different world from a regular letter.
    • Select your game mode. Seeds work in both Creative and Survival modes, so choose the mode you want to play in and tap "Create world"!
  5. Try some of the following seeds. Here are a few seeds collected online. These are all seeds for the "Infinite" world type. There are literally tons of others, so give this one and try to find your own seeds afterward!
    • 1388582293 - This makes a world with a massive network of interconnected places.
    • 3015911 - Starts directly above Diamond, Iron and Redstone blocks, giving you a great start.
    • 1402364920 - This creates a very unique "Icicle" ecosystem.
    • 106854229 - This seed creates a "Mushroom Island" where you emerge, complete with mushroom cows.
    • 805967637 - This seed creates a not so special village near you. However, if you jump into the well and break the bricks, you will discover a gigantic underground fortress, ready to explore.
    • infinity - This creates a forest with interconnected floating islands above it.
  6. Find and share the seed of your current world. Are you playing a random game and want to share that amazing world with your friends? You can find the seed for each world in the latest versions of Minecraft PE.
    • Go to the main menu and press the "Play" button. This will open a list of all your saved worlds.
    • Tap the "Edit" button in the top right corner.
    • Look under the file size for the world you want to share. You will see a series of characters. This is the seed of your world. Make sure you include all characters when you divide it, including the letters and minus signs (-).

Warnings

  • Seeds are case sensitive.
