Steps

Method 1 of 4: Choosing Products for Making a Cake - Diaper Motorcycle

1. 1 Choose the colors and styles of the necessary items that you think the expectant mother would like. The following is exactly what is needed (also below are the things that you will need to create a cake):
   • At least 34 diapers for (newborn or toddler)
   • 2 baby blankets
   • 2 bibs with toys tied to them (Suitable for newborn or nursing baby)
   • 1 pair of baby socks
   • 1 bottle
   • 1 washcloth
   • 1 plush stuffed toy (which does not contain buttons or any items that present a choking hazard).

Method 2 of 4: Making Tires

The curls you create form tires.

1. 1 Place the diapers in the pot. Start by stacking one row and position the diapers so that they are straight and horizontal. After building one side row, move to the other side of the pan and build up this area.
2. 2 Continue to lay the folded diapers out in rows in the saucepan. Continue creating the shape of the wheel.
3. 3 Do not remove diapers from the pot. Place one of the elastic bands or soft elastic bands around the diapers.
4. 4 Remove the splints from the diaper from the pot and place on a hard surface. You can ask a friend to help with this, because if any diaper falls out of the wheel, you will have to start the process again!
5. 5 Create another diaper wheel. Do this in a saucepan in the same way as you did the first.
   • Wrap the elastic around the diapers, carefully lift the splints out of the pot and place them next to the first diaper splint.
6. 6 Wrap decorative tape around each diaper wheel. Cover the elastic or elastic band with tape. This improves the appearance and gives the impression of a tire.
   • Secure the tape in place, leaving a pin at the bottom of the tire so you can't see it.

Method 3 of 4: Adding a Baby Blanket

1. 1 Fold the first blanket in half lengthwise. Iron the blanket if necessary.
2. 2 Roll the blanket into a tight roll. The roll should be tight enough to fit in the middle of the tire diaper hole. Staple the blanket roll.
3. 3 Insert the rolled blanket into the hole in the diaper wheel. Stretch the ends so that the blanket dangles half to half. The roll should remain in place, so secure each end of the blanket if necessary.
4. 4 Place the diaper wheels side by side (this is how they look like tires now). Pull the blanket from the first to the second wheel. Align the wheels with each other so that they form the base of the motorcycle.
   • Tuck the end of the blanket into the hole on the second diaper wheel. Pull gently so that the blanket easily holds the two wheels together.
   • Pin the ends of the blanket so that the blanket stays in place inside the wheels.
5. 5 Fold the second blanket in half lengthwise. Then, roll the blanket in the same way as you rolled the first blanket.
6. 6 Place a blanket in the front splint hole. Slide the blanket through the hole until both ends of the blanket meet.

Method 4 of 4: Adding the rest of the elements

1. 1 Attach the bib to the top of the front wheel diaper. Leave the picture or the name of the child at the top.
2. 2 Hold the ends of the front wheel blanket up. Thread the ringed toy through the top so that it is holding the ends of the two blankets. Insert the toy, stretch it all the way up to the diaper wheels.
3. 3 Insert the bottle above the bib and under the ring of the toy. Check that it fits snugly.
4. 4 Give shape and density to motorcycle handles. Insert a small piece of rolled light cardboard inside each handlebar grip.
5. 5 Insert a small amount of tissue paper into the baby's socks to shape.
6. 6 Slip one sock over the handles on each side. Secure them if they don't hold well.
7. 7 Attach the second bib to the rear wheel in the same way as you attached the first bib in front.
8. 8 Place the stuffed toy upside down as if the toy is riding a motorcycle. You may need to attach the toy, especially if the toy is malleable.
9. 9 Ready. Now you have an interesting, cute and very useful gift for your expectant mother.

Tips

• Attach a dishcloth by wrapping it around the baby bottle before inserting it into the bib.
• Put the diaper cake in your mom's basket of goodies (such as spa gift cards, a bottle of champagne, and even a cute nightgown she can wear in the hospital).
