Petroleum jelly provides superior conditioning and hydration for dry and brittle eyelashes. Petroleum jelly also helps to strengthen them. They become not only thicker, but also longer. In addition, petroleum jelly, which has moisturizing properties, has a positive effect on the skin around the eyelids. It becomes smooth and supple. Use a cleaned mascara brush to apply petroleum jelly to your lashes before bed.

Steps

Part 1 of 2: Cleansing the Mascara Brush

1. 1 Take the mascara brush. Also, prepare a paper towel. If you use a cloth, it can create more mess. Blot the mascara brush with a paper towel. If you're having trouble getting the mascara off the brush quickly, gently roll the brush in a folded paper towel. This also helps to straighten the bristles of the brush.
2. 2 Clean the brush. Now dip the brush in warm water. Leave it there for 2-4 minutes so that all the bristles are under water. This will allow you to remove any dried ink on the brush.
3. 3 Use isopropyl alcohol. After holding the brush in warm water, there may still be some mascara residue between the bristles. Soak the brush in isopropyl alcohol to remove mascara residue and disinfect the brush.
4. 4 Blot the brush dry. Use a paper towel to gently blot the brush dry. Make sure the brush is completely dry before using the petroleum jelly brush. If you've prepared your brush beforehand, store it in a plastic bag to keep it clean and sanitized.

Part 2 of 2: Applying Vaseline

1. 1 Remove makeup. Remove makeup from eyes and lashes. Thanks to this, you will be able to reap all the benefits of the moisturizing properties of petroleum jelly.
2. 2 Stir in the petroleum jelly. Stir the petroleum jelly with a clean finger. This will increase its temperature and make it easier for you to apply.
3. 3 Dip the mascara brush into the petroleum jelly. The bristles of the brush must be completely covered with petroleum jelly. Make sure that only the top of the brush is not covered with Vaseline. If this happens, simply use a damp paper towel to spread the Vaseline evenly over the brush.
4. 4 Apply petroleum jelly to your upper lashes. Just as you would apply mascara to your lashes, repeat this process with petroleum jelly. Be careful not to get the Vaseline in your eyes. Optionally, apply petroleum jelly to the upper eyelid. This will make the skin smoother. If you have sensitive skin, you may experience an allergic reaction, so be sure to apply petroleum jelly to the back of your hand first to test if it is safe for you.
5. 5 Apply petroleum jelly to your lower lashes. Dip the brush back into the petroleum jelly. Remember not to get the Vaseline in your eyes. Therefore, gently apply petroleum jelly to your lower lashes.
   • When you apply Vaseline, your lashes will start to stick together. Do not use too much petroleum jelly. Your lashes should be covered with an even, thin layer.
6. 6 Leave the petroleum jelly on your lashes. If you repeat the procedure every night, your lashes will be moisturized and also less brittle. The conditioning properties of Vaseline increase the cycle time of each lash. This will make them thick and long.
7. 7 Wash off the petroleum jelly from your eyelashes in the morning. When you wake up, wash off the Vaseline. If you can't rinse off the petroleum jelly, use a cleanser. Since petroleum jelly is an oil, water may not be enough. Do your usual makeup. By repeating the procedure daily, you will be able to see its effect after three days.

Tips

• You can use petroleum jelly with your fingertips, but only if your hands are clean. Otherwise, germs on your hands can get into your eyes.
• If you don't have mascara or want natural-looking lashes, use petroleum jelly. If you don't have petroleum jelly, you can use petroleum jelly lip balm.
• If you don't have petroleum jelly, you can use coconut oil.

Warnings

• If petroleum jelly gets into the eye or tear duct, bacteria can be transferred to the eye, which in turn can cause discomfort or blurred vision. It can also lead to eye infections.
• Watch for skin reactions. Some people experience an allergic reaction to petroleum jelly. Therefore, be sure to apply petroleum jelly to the back of your hand first to test its safety in your case.
