1 Take measurements. Determine the length of the future dress (approximately the length from the armpit to the knee of the child). Add 5 cm to this number, as the dress will be very fluffy. Also, take measurements around the chest, back, and right under the baby's armpits. This is where the gum will be.

2 Cut the fabric. Lay the tulle on a flat surface and cut into strips twice the length of your measurement.

• For example, if the length from the armpit to the knee of the child is 30 cm, add another 5 cm and then multiply by two. It turns out 70 cm. Thus, you need to cut the tulle into strips of 70 centimeters.

3 Cut off the elastic. Cut a piece of elastic about 5 cm longer than this measurement around the baby's chest.

• For example, if the measurement around the baby's chest and back is 30 cm, then cut off a 35 cm piece of elastic.

4 Secure the ends of the elastic. Use a glue gun to glue the ends of the elastic together to form a loop.

• If you want to secure the elastic more carefully, you can sew the ends together, but this is not necessary.
• To make the dress more comfortable, you can glue it on or sew a strip of cotton under the elastic inside the dress. Alternatively, you can wrap the elastic between the tulle strips with ribbon.

5 Tie the elastic with tulle strips. Fold a strip of tulle in half, thread under the elastic, and pull the ends of the tulle through the loop. Repeat with the rest of the tulle strips. If you are using more than one color, alternate between them.

6 Make shoulder straps. Tie two ribbons so they can support the dress. It will be easier for you to determine the length of the straps for the dress if you put it on your child.

7 Put on your dress. Put the dress on the child up to the armpits, and tie a ribbon around the waist. This is not necessary, but you can decorate the dress with flowers and rhinestones.

8 Ready! Your child has a very beautiful dress.

Tips

• This dress is pretty easy to make. Just buy the tulle and you can start making the costume.
• As a rule, young children do not like to wear any kind of clothing, so your child may refuse to wear this dress, despite the fact that it looks extremely cute. Unfortunately, this article cannot help you in such a case.
